Buckman is a close in SE Portland neighborhood which is an increasingly popular place to live. The apartment is at the eastern end of the neighborhood. There are parks, a picturesque cemetery, good restaurants, wine bars, craft brewing pubs and the Laurelhurst movie theater, all within walking distance. The #15 bus line runs to downtown on the other side of the cemetery (6 blocks). A little further afield (just over a mile) is the Hawthorne district where there are some off beat shops and more places to eat and drink. Downtown is 2 miles away.
The apartment is part of a new build and is situated at the rear of the property next to the garden It is one story up (over the garage) and receives a lot of natural light. It is fully self-contained, all appliances are new which makes self-catering very easy. What it lacks in history it more than makes up for in convenience!
Buckman is pretty close to downtown while still having a residential flavor. It also contains a number of agreeable restaurants, wine bars and brewpubs.
Everyday shopping needs such as grocery stores are also well served. Additionally it is pretty easy to get to the major freeways for travel purposes.
Buses run to downtown and back a few blocks over.
Highly recommended! Well equipped and well maintained suite in a great neighbourhood. Clean and comfortable. Cara and Roger are friendly and accommodating. Short walk to good restaurants, Coalition brewery and the Yoga Space made this an ideal location.
Wonderful hosts answered all of our questions and went over and above our expectations. Studio was clean, bright, comfortable, had more amenities than most homes, and was close to everything we needed. This was our first airbnb experience and we will definitely be back! They provide lots of extra little touches that make you feel special.
This was one of the best rentals we ever had! This extremely cozy studio was perfect for my wife and I and our 3month old. Cara & Roger really made us feel welcomed and their hospitality went beyond what we expected when they offered to set up an additional bed for us since we had our son. We are already planning another trip to Portland and will definitely be getting this place again!!
This little studio was totally charming and had everything you needed and more! Cara and Roger were very gracious, leaving us a bottle of wine and a well curated informational packet on Portland. The studio was immaculate, and smelled very new! The neighborhood was lovely too; we walked to restaurants and bars, but were also a short cab ride to downtown. This cozy Portland studio was just perfect for our quick trip.
This apartment is cozy in the best sense of the word. It actually felt spacious and light while being warm and comfortable at the same time. Cara and Roger take care with every detail. They are very accommodating. It is incredibly clean and attractive. I wish I could have stayed longer. The location is great. It is quiet but very close to restaurants and has easy access to transportation. I hope to stay here again.
Staying at Cara's place was a lovely experience. She had prepared a lot of portland magazines and guide books that were very useful when discovering the city. It's in a great location, walking distance many restaurants and short drives all around town. The studio was very spacious and cozy and I would definitely go back to stay at her place next time I'm in Portland!
Professional couple who enjoy urban life with 2 simple cats. New York is too fast, Seattle too crowded, Portland is just right. Hosting out-of-town friends (and now strangers) is pure pleasure in this great town!
