Located in a quiet and safe part of Mérida, Casa Flor de Mayo is perfectly situated for exploring the charms of the city. A former pueblo swallowed up in Merida’s expansion, La Ermita still retains its old-world feel, complete with a charming square and stately church, plus free wifi so you can upload your photos to (website hidden).
Stroll north on the cobbled streets of Calle 64, under the original arched gateway into the city and stop for some people watching in Parque San Juan. From there it's a few blocks further on to Merida’s main plaza, Latin America’s oldest cathedral, and fantastic governor's palace.
Feeling hungry? Sit down at one of the many outdoor restaurants lining the main plaza for a coconut sorbet, or to sample some local Yucatecan dishes. After lunch, stroll north along Paseo de Montejo, Merida’s Champs Elysees, for some people watching along this tree-lined boulevard and see some of the grandiose mansions the city has to offer.
After a day of exploring, retire from the hustle and bustle of the city sights and relax by the pool in your quiet colonial paradise.
Stan and his team were great! I recommend them and this property 100%. The house was fabulous -- like walking straight into a private art gallery. I think I spent half my time in Merida in the house since it was so lovely.
If you are looking for a relaxing, care free, beautiful location within minutes of the historical centre of Merida, with a competent and knowledgeable team to answer all of your questions, then rent this gem.
We felt completely at ease and in good hands with Stan and Cinthya. They were always on-hand to help out, and were very accommodating to our needs. We were welcomed with a basket full of local fruits, and Cinthya made sure we had all we needed for our stay (e.g. drink water, towels, shampoo, soap, etc). But the biggest wow factor was definitely the house. Completely mesmerized from the minute we walked into the door, no detail was left untouched. We woke up everyday pinching ourselves in disbelief that we were actually living in this postcard perfect historical gem!
This house is a perfect stay in Merida. We loved the interior design of the house, which is even more beautiful than the pictures on the site. The garden is quiet and with lots of flowers, the terrace well done with shade for the hot sunny days, and the pool perfect to cool down after a visit to the zocolo, at a 10 mins. walk.
Stanley is a great host, leaving us with lots of ideas where to eat, what to see, really inspiring to get to do everything Merida has to offer.
We stayed here with our 3 kids, between 1 and 11 years old, and they all loved the place as well. We would recommend anyone to stay here, it is without doubt an amazing place.
