The Space

Comfortable room with double bed, large closet, desk and chair, side table and floor lamp.
Two large windows with view of the garden. Beautiful new bathroom with jacuzzi or shower and a nice antique sink, four windows. plenty of light and storage space.
You can expect a beautiful house built in 1910 in the Craftsman style of the time. A century ago the houses in this area were farms and the automobile didn't exist.
You can walk a few blocks to beautiful Kissena park and sit by the lake, or bike along the many bike trail,s or simply enjoy the great variety of trees and birds.
You can eat in Flushing exotic Asian cuisine and have Colombian coffee and pastries for breakfast; you won't run out of possibilities.
In the spring we highly recommend that you take a trip to the Queens Botanical Garden in Flushing and that you take time to visit the Chinese malls and stores on Main street or Roosvelt avenue. If you like spa treatments you will find a great variety of them in the area offering all kinds of treatments for beauty or relaxation.
There is daily bus service to beautiful Mohigan Sun Casino and another one that takes you to the Woodbury Outlet where you can shop for designer clothes at discounted prices.

  • George and Pat are friendly hosts and it was a nice experience staying with them. The property is on Flushing Main station from where both express and local 7 number train takes you to Central Manhattan in about 30-45 mts.One disadvantage is that one has to walk about 1.8 miles (about 25 mts) to reach the subway station.Bus Q 65 frequency is average, but a taxi ride in a green cab at USD 12 is affordable.

George's improvements to the back and front yard are in progress after which the house would become even better.if you are planning to cook a meal- sorry, this is not your place. But why would you want to do it when so much variety is easily available at Flushing Main st as well as at the junction of 147th and Parsons Ave?

I had enjoyed my stay.Thank you George and Pat

  • George and Pat were excellent hosts. The room was very clean and comfortable and we had coffee and fruit every morning. The place is a little far from Manhattan but with a good book the time in the subway is quite manageable. We were very happy to stay there.

  • We stayed two nights with George and Pat. They are gracious guests. The room
we had was adequate given the price we paid, and comfortable, but spare.
The bathroom is great: especially the shower.
What is clear is that George and Pat are just extremely nice people, who enjoy sharing their space with others. The neighborhood is decent, and people were ok. Parking is at a premium; if you drive, patience is the byword.
We went to downtown Flushing by taking the Q65 Bus back and forth, and it ran frequently, except when one was involved in an accident, we waited an hour for a return bus. George and Pat leave extra food and drinks in the hallway...just another nice touch. When we wanted a car service to Manhattan, George called one for us!! We highly recommend them to anyone.

  • George was extremely welcoming and friendly. The room was large and clean, and he even had muffins and fruit for us in the morning. There are locks on all of the rooms and a separate front door for guests so it is very private, secure and quiet. The house is huge and beautiful in a nice quiet neighborhood, and very nicely located for access to Flushing Main Street and Murray Hill. Highly recommended - we will be coming back here if we are in Queens again.

  • George was really nice and a great host. I booked this room for my father to attend a wedding. He told we that the place was really nice, very well located. I would consider staying there myself after such a positive experience.

  • Hey all, my stay in NYC with George was incredible! George and his wife were incredibly accommodating and helpful for my little trip to the big city. Both he and his wife would have me call or text at any time with any question and they would do their best to help. That small comfort alone made me feel safe and taken care of. I may have abused that a little but they did help me navigate the train and bus system like a pro. Their home is beautiful, warm, and quiet. I may have just lucked out and been there with other quite people but it was peaceful and very fun. They're located in a cool location very near a bus stop that takes you right to Main Street to get on the 7 train that takes you right to time square. The commute into the city from their home was about 30 -40 mins. I wish I would've had more time to get to know them better as I was only there for 2 nights. George is argentine, and I served a 2 year mission in argentina so the whole time we'd speak Castillano which was AWESOME. Pretty much all I'm saying is they are awesome. Their home is clean and wonderful, they really take care of their guests, it's set up like a bnb so lots of privacy and they take care of you. I want to go back to NYC again real soon and will aim to stay with them again.

  • Me and my partner spent 9 nights at George and Patricia's home. They're respectful hosts always ready to help you. They were always open to our needs or suggestions. Our room was light, well heated and independent. Their house is a historical nice and safe place where both hosts and guests respect your privacy. You'll be provided everyday with coffee, some crackers or muffins and fruits, which help you to safe time or money before having your first daily meal. Perhaps the less positive point is that there is only one bathroom for three rooms. However, you can coordinate your time very well with other hosts, who used the bathroom in a reasonable way. I would recommend this place to those looking for a private and safe place, to a reasonable price, situated near several strategic places Flushing such as restaurants, grocery stores and the NY subway station.

George is a construction contractor. His passion is carpentry and cabinet making. He remodeled the house, so all the pictures that you see are about his work. Pat is a Fashion designer with an interest in interiors and knitting. She also enjoys building websites, cooking and drawing. We like to eat a great meal with a nice glass of wine. We enjoy the company of our many artist friends in The Catskils. George is into Rock and Roll, Pat is into Classical. We often listen to Latin Rythms and ballads, Jazz and Progressive music, George is good at percussion, and can follow anybody with a Conga or a pair of sticks..
