Very clean and comfortable, safe area, close to bus stop. They have separate entrance for guest, a shared refrigerator, the shared bath is big bright and clean. We feel free and relax. Happy to stay there again next time. Thanks!
George is a great host. The room is nice and clean. Location is great too. The only thing I dislike is I can easily hear people walking in the hallway and talking in their rooms.
George and Pat are great hosts. It was our second time staying there! We had everything we needed for our stay including coffee, tea and treats. Pat was warm, friendly, available if we needed anything, yet unobtrusive. We love their historic home. The neighborhood is safe and friendly and close to our favorite haunts, Dosa hut, Yoga classes, the Hindu Ganesha temple and many smaller temples, and our favorite ethnic market Gold city. The subway to Manhattan is a short walk away. We would definitely stay again.
The hosts warmly greeted me and showed me my accommodations. The accommodations were just as described. It wasn't a fancy hotel, but I was just looking for a place to sleep and shower as I would be out each day touring NYC and Queens. A heckuva lot cheaper than a hotel. I was about a mile from the subway which took me all the way to Times Square without transferring subways. I attended a Mets game which was the first stop on the subway ride. Queens is an amazing place. So many different cultures and foods to experience. I hope to make a return trip and if so, I hope to stay at the Venter's once again.
Very cozy and beautiful room. Daily fresh fruit and clean enviroment. George is so helpful with everything. Definitely recommend to stay here!
Beautiful house! Simply like everything in the house, all the things were well decorated, elegant, and clean. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. I spent lots of time sleeping fighting with my jet lag, and the comfortable bed definitely helped A LOT. A place that makes you feel like home.
I have a simple set of requirements that any room / hotel / hostel must comply with in order to have a nice "home outsid home" experience: safety and security, clean beds / room / bathroom, and good service. George and his wife are excellent hosts, and they comply with these requirements - and more. Besides, Manhattan is easy to reach (even if a bit far), and there are many "real" Asian restaurants in the flushing area. Can only recommend this place if you want to visit NY and you are on a mid-low budget.

George is a construction contractor. His passion is carpentry and cabinet making. He remodeled the house, so all the pictures that you see are about his work.
Pat is a Fashion designer with an interest in interiors and knitting. She also enjoys building websites, cooking and drawing.
We like to eat a great meal with a nice glass of wine. We enjoy the company of our many artist friends in The Catskils.
George is into Rock and Roll, Pat is into Classical. We often listen to Latin Rythms and ballads, Jazz and Progressive music, George is good at percussion, and can follow anybody with a Conga or a pair of sticks..
