Quiet, lovely nights under the stars.
Please contact me via an inquiry before you make a reservation request. This is a chemical FRAGRANCE FREE home. I enjoy welcoming guests into my home, but if you wear chemically scented colognes, after shaves, hair sprays, body sprays, or perfumes, I can't. Most stuff with herbal fragrance from Whole Foods or health food stores is okay, but strong chemical fragrances are a non-starter here. Food odors may be present since I do cook some of my meals.
Music is good. Jamming is encouraged.
Not good: tuba waltzes; pets; strong fragrances (perfumes, colognes).
Please park your car in front of the house, out of consideration for neighbors.
Smoking is OK outside, in the yard, but not inside the house.

After my first stay at Steve house I knew I'll be a renter of his place again if I have to visit Napa. Nice, quiet place to spend your stay. Even watching Giants game with him was fun. Highly recommend him!
It was funny to rent someones backyard! We looked for a campsite near Napa and Steve lives in a very central neighbourhood so for us the 'campsite' was just fine. Steve is a kind person who gave advice about the good wineries in Napa. It was fun to stay here. Rinke & Valentine
My partner sal and I camped in Steve's backyard for the Bottlerock concert. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely camp here again. Steve was very accommodating and even let us set up camp at 9am before the concert. It wasn't more than a 15min bike ride from his house to the concert and was extremely convenient!
I stayed with Steve before running the Napa Valley Marathon. Steve was very helpful in getting me settled and making sure I was comfortable. Very cheap, good alternative to hotels!
My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to find Steve to stay with during the Bottlerock festival. We camped in his backyard for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. His place is really cute and he was a wonderful host and a really nice guy. He set out clean towels and soaps for us to shower in the morning and when we arrived, he had also set out chocolates and a bottle of wine! We will stay there again for sure and we highly recommend his place for any traveler.

About the Host, Steve
This is my home, not a hotel. I really enjoy meeting new people from all over the world, and helping them enjoy this fantastic Napa-Sonoma area. I've lived around here for 40 years.
Since 2009, I am President and Creative Director at Caltext Creative, a publicity and brand enhancement firm located in Napa, California, USA. I am also President of StevesWood, purveyor of fine grilling and BBQ supplies. Also, I provide knowledgeable top-notch livery services to wine country visitors who want to tour the beautiful Napa-Sonoma-Lake-Mendocino wine country in a driving-safe-and-sober manner.
I am an experienced livery driver and I can happily manage all of your transportation needs for your Wine Country tasting tour. Reasonably priced, hassle-free transportation, combining the benefits of a local resident’s knowledge of the area (including fifteen years managing vineyards in Sonoma County) with a sense of humor and complete dependability.
If you want me to drive you and wait for you, my hourly rate is $30/hr with a three hour minimum. If you simply want a ride from point A to point B, it’s $2.50/mile. Recent references available, you need only ask.
Before the worldwide economic collapse, I worked as a consulting Registered Civil Engineer providing water quality compliance assistance to resource agencies, water and irrigation districts, municipalities, and other public and private organizations.
And before that, I was Farm Manager and Vineyard Operator at Oak Hill Vineyards in Healdsburg, Sonoma County. I was responsible for all agricultural operations, land development, chemical recommendations/applications, and grower/winery liaison. I delivered about 300 tons per year to some of the top wineries of the time.
