Enjoyed our stay very much! Plenty of room for 5 and the house was filled with kitchen supplies to snorkeling equipment. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets! The tide pools are incredible and endless!
The house is truly beautiful. Comfy beds. Bicycles to use. Snorkel gear included for the glorious tide pools which were one of the high points of our trip to the islands.
Hosts were available by phone. Quick to respond. A 20 minute drive to the nearest restaurants, in Pahoa.
Spacious, clean, luxurious. Perfect for our family of six adults.
The house was truly amazing and included all of the necessary amenities and then some. The pictures are definitely an accurate representation of the property, but it's even more impressive in person. The neighborhood was nice and quaint, with the best part being that it was only about a 1/4 mile from the tide pools. The tide pools offered countless hours of entertainment and were really a thing of beauty. We made a few trips into Hilo which is less than an hours drive. The market in Hilo is a must do, with Wednesday and Saturday having the largest selection of vendors. There are no shortage of things to do whether staying locally or venturing out.
I highly recommend staying here if making a trip to the Big Island
Arrived to a welcome note and some fresh fruit. House was as described and was plenty of room for us. Home was not as clean as expected, which was disappointing. Nearby tide pools were fantastic.
The house was just as nice as the pictures made it out to be. The snorkeling in the tide pools was crazy good. We visited not too long after the tropical storms, so there was still quite a bit of debris in the neighborhood and surrounding areas, but the house and lot were in great repair. 10/10 would vacation again.
We really enjoyed staying at this house as it fit our needs well. It is very spacious and was more room than we needed (6 adults). Great bathroom and bedrooms with everything provided that we needed.
It is away from the somewhat crowded areas in and around Hilo. It still provided easy access to town for whatever we needed. Pahoa is also a cute town that has most of everything you would need. There are plenty of snorkels provided for your whole group to go snorkeling at the nearby tidepools (which is not to be missed at high tide). Having bikes provided for us was also great.
Only downside is that it can get a little warm but there are many fans and windows to help with the air flow.
If you're looking for a quiet place to stay with good access to Hilo and Volcanoes national park, this is a great place. The hosts were also easy to get in touch with.
The house was simply amazing!
Our large extended family of 8 stayed at the house for 2 nights in July. The house was wonderful. Everything was so new & the wood used throughout the house was gorgeous. There is a huge master living suite upstairs with its own sitting area, bathroom and kitchen. Downstairs, there are 3 bedrooms with a large living room, dining room, eat-in kitchen with large center island. There is a very nice patio on first floor and a deck on the second floor that wraps around part of the house. Washer/dryer in the back of the house. All furnishings are in great condition. The hosts (whom we never interacted with during the trip) really thought of everything. Hammock on the patio, shower outside near entry, Storage bin on patio for beach gear, Kitchen well stocked, Satellite TV up & downstairs, LOTS of towels everywhere, lots of fans around the house and security cameras in the corners of the exterior. We would definitely stay there again when we come back to the Big Island.
My wife and I are local residents, we were born annd raised in Kailua, Oahu. My wife is a teacher and I am a contractor. We have two kids and a dog. We love to travel and meet new friends!
