The space
Hello airbnb'er! So you want to travel to beautiful Copenhagen – very understandable indeed.
Please take a look at our sunny penthouse flat in the charming area Oesterbro. It's one of the main central neighborhoods of Copenhagen and only 2 miles from City Hall Square, Tivoli, Nyhavn, The Little Mermaid and so on. Just 150 meters from our front door you'll find the the M3 Metro Circle line literally on our street. The "Poul Henningsens Plads M-station" connects you to the inner city in 7 minutes and the airport in 30 minutes. We also have an excellent bicycle rental shop down the street.
Our apartment is close to shops, green parks, cosy cafés and even the beach near Svanemøllen Station. Please take note of Bopa Plads with four very nice cafés (café Pixie is our favorite) nothing beats a glass of afternoon wine here or an outside brunch under the umbrellas – well actually The Pavillon Beer Garden in nearby Fælledparken can beat Bopa Plads on a sunny day.
The Metro Circle line takes you directly to the City Hall Square, The Little Mermaid, Tivoli Gardens, Nyhavn, Kongens Nytorv, Rosenborg, Christiania and other famous attractions in a maximum of 12 minutes.
We offer a bright and modern penthouse flat with a large combined living room & kitchen in one open plan with a minimum of walls to block the impressive view from the floor-to-ceiling windows. Of course it also has a few dents and scratches here and there and it might not be Ritz-Carlton-clean, but please bear with us, it's a real home for a busy family and not a luxury hotel : )
From the kitchen-section a staircase leads to the small but cosy second floor (mind the lowish ceiling) with a comfy KING sized elevation-bed (even extra length) and an impressive view over the city towers. Our smaller kids room is perfect for up to three kids on a good day – it holds a medium sized queen-bed (120cm x 200cm) and a fold-out crib upon request. This bed also fits adults perfectly.
By request we can supply extra flat-on-the-floor-but-comfy-basic-mattresses and of course the crib (a baby/toddler travel bed fit for babies up to about 20 months).
This kids room is nicely shielded by the only door in the flat: SO: perfect for stowing away a grumpy teenager or three young children (one big kid in the bed & up to two smallish ones the floor). Note: The baby cot is available on request (sometimes even with sheets and blankets).
The flats is equipped with dishwasher, clothes washing machine, dryer/tumbler, oven, freezer, microwave (and ablender on request) to make cooking meals smooth and easy. Our 55" flatscreen with streaming apps like Netflix, YouTube, Disney Channel etc. should be able to keep you entertained when you are not roaming the streets for sights, shopping, coffee shops & pre-dinner drinks. Bonus: Feel free to use the iMac (running Windows) along with the 1.000 Mbps super high speed wi-fi.
– or simply enjoy the panoramic view from the balcony.
Your every day groceries should work out nicely: A five second elevator ride to street level and by magic you'll find a grocery store right inside your apartment building!
In case of the feared "we've-touristed-too-much-all-day-to-do-anything-tonight-fatigue" voila: we also have an in-house pizzaria at ground level and a bar/grill across the street.
In the morning you'll be walking 4 steps across the street to get your freshly baked bread, juice and Danish pastries in the small bakery shop.
The supermarket usually opens at 8.00 AM and closes at 22.00 PM all days including the weekend.
The flat fits 3 adults or a family up to 5 members depending on the age of the children (the younger the better and only if the kids can share the smaller room).
I usually arrange for the easiest possible retrieval of the key – in fact just ouside the front door from a key-locker/codebox.
Arrival from Copenhagen Airport (10 km) is a short Metro-train ride to Kongens Nytorv (M2 Line) and then the M3 Cirkle line directly to out street (Poul Henningsens Plads M-station).
The appartment is on the 7th floor and turned towards our beautiful courtyard so it's very quiet - absolutely no traffic noise can be heard.
If you are travelling with children, we have a few toys in the apartment and many many playgrounds nearby. The popular "Fælledparken" only 200 meters away has several modern playgrounds totalling to the size of a small theme park.
We'll make sure you have clean sheets and towels when you arrive, but our maid-service is not the precise-like-clockwork-Ritz-Carlton-type so please be prepared to make the beds yourself and maybe even leave the flat as nice as you would like to receive it yourself.
