  • This cabin was lovely. We had plans to venture out to Asheville and other places but loved walking around this area so much we stayed around the cabin for the most part. We spent a lot of time on the front porch scheming as to how we could move to the area:) Inside the cabin is clean and cozy. We fit six people very comfortably.

  • Unfortunately we were only able to stay at Joe's place for only one night. We would have loved to stay for longer! The cabin was very spacious, we slept 5 comfortably. Everything was very clean and cozy, so it is very easy to lay back and relax and get away from everything. We hope to stay here again the next time we have a family trip.

  • Joe and his family are terrific hosts. Their "little cabin" is absolutely perfect. It's not so little either. The rooms are all very large and extremely comfortable. They keep their cabin well maintained and spotlessly clean. Joe had plenty of helpful hiking guides ready and waiting for us. He also gave us tips his own personal knowledge of the best places to hike. The ponds on the property were a lot of fun for us to fish in and for our dogs to swim in. We even caught several fish, which says a lot since we only have fished three times and have no idea what we are doing. If you are looking for a private slice of nature heaven with very generous and friendly hosts this is the place for you.

  • This was my first time in North Carolina and this cabin will bring me back to these parts. Secluded, well maintained, fully fitted and peaceful; a lot of care has been taken. Joe was able to welcome us, with an invitation to explore his horse farm across the road. A great host, present but hands-off, a gentleman. As for the area, we explored Highlands and Cashiers, while also making time for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Good place, days felt long

  • Rental as described. Very cozy. Practically brand new. Very well furnished. Great mountain air and nature walks directly out of cabin. Tamera is very generous with her time in assuring our satisfaction and offering ideas of things to do in the area, including food choices.

  • Wonderful, We went there seeking reasonable private accommodation to celebrate my wife's 64th birthday and we got understated luxury amid the most beautiful surroundings, Tamera was a wonderful host and on the last night of our stay there, she had us over for wine and cheese to help celebrate my wife's birthday. We definitely plan to come back. Everything was provided for Tamera and her mate were wonderful hosts,

  • We had a wonderful experience here! The location is beautiful and the cabin has wonderful views. Tamera is very helpful and accommodating, I highly recommend a stay or visit here!

  • Tamera was a wonderful host. She kept a very clean house complete with candles, firewood, and shampoo. The bed was comfortable and the house was surrounded by trees. It was wonderful to sit on the porch while watching the sunrise and set each day. We kayaked and hiked to beautiful waterfalls a short drive away. Tamera gave great advice on what to do and where to eat (though we brought our own food to cook.) One night we were invited to share drinks and snacks around the campfire at the nearby home of the host. We had such a wonderful time with them learning about the area, property, and sharing our stories. They were there if we needed anything, but were very respectful of our privacy. One of the best host and places we have stayed! Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

I am semi retired, live in the Woodlands, Texas and spend most of the summer in the mountains of Western North Carolina. My family enjoy the mountains and all they have to offer, hiking, fly fishing and all the beautiful views. We have a 50 acre horse farm and a cabin adjacent to our property that we enjoy renting out so others can enjoy the same beauty that we enjoy.
