The Neighborhood

A few nearby attractions highly recommend. All under 25 minutes by vehicle:

Jackson Park - located at Monaghan & Park Hill Rd. intersections. Excellent trail running through wooded area used frequently by walkers and bikers. Very picturesque park.

Beavermead - The Trans Canada Trail runs throughout the park, good for walking, biking, rollerblading, fishing, swimming, kayaking or canoeing rentals available.

Del Cary Park - Beautiful park host to the Musicfest concert series operating on Wed. and Sat. nights from mid June-August. The park is located next to the Marina on the shores of Little Lake.

Peterborough Marina - Located in the heart of downtown Peterborough on Little Lake. 134 lakes and some of the most magnificent landscape connected by the historic Trent -Severn Waterway. The waterway is approximately 386 kilometres in length. Do not miss the opportunity to go on a boat cruise through the various Lift Locks and observe the operation of the world's highest hydraulic Lift Lock- a fascinating feat of gravity and engineering precision that looks like an enormous bathtub on posts.

Riverdale Zoo - Just north of downtown Peterborough. It's free. Board the miniature train for a small fee. Such a peaceful and tranquil setting to enjoy a leisurely stroll.

The Canadian Canoe Museum - Has more than 100 canoes and kayaks on display. Free parking.

Shopping on Lansdowne Street - Lansdowne Mall is a great place to start as it offers a variety of stores and a Superstore. There are plenty of dine-in and take-out restaurants and coffee shops to please any taste buds.

College/University - Close to Trent University, Sir Sandford Fleming College and Lakefield College School.
