About this listing
Private room with attached private bath in my quiet, cozy town home. I am located within walking distance of downtown Denver and 17th Avenue restaurants and bars. I offer you privacy if that is what you desire or I am happy to chat!
I am offering a private bedroom and private attached bath in my lovely 1895 vintage duplex. There is a little deck off the bedroom - a fun place to drink coffee. The home is located in an historic neighborhood within walking distance of downtown Denver - nightlife and restaurants in the Uptown Neighborhood are just blocks away. The Convention Center and other downtown amenities are a short walk. Several bus lines and the light rail service various parts of Denver and are available within 2 blocks. The kitchen is large and updated with high-end appliances and granite countertops. The fireplace and wood floors are original to the home. The layout is typical of townhomes - lots of stairs. I have many books and movies to keep you entertained. I collect folk art. In good weather you will enjoy my private back garden. Please note that my home is cooled with an evaporative cooler - it keeps the home quite comfortable in summer months and provides much-needed humidity in the dry, Colorado climate. I know that you will love the house and the 'hood! New vegan bakery one block up the street! No smoking of any kind inside of the house. You are welcome to partake in the garden.
Sorry.... not pet-friendly after a bad experience.
Interaction with Guests
I am happy to offer you privacy if that is what you are comfortable with. (I will give you a key so that you can come and go as you please). I also love to chat over a glass of wine or tea in the kitchen. The choice is yours!
My house is located in an historic district boasting homes circa the late 1800's. By Denver standards, this is quite unique! I am within walking distance of everything one could desire. Vegan bakery and liquor store one block down the street. Grocery store two blocks over. Great restaurants and bars 3 blocks over on 17th Avenue. Walk to downtown attractions and the Denver Convention Center. Light rail and bus lines within a couple of blocks. Best of all, I have wonderful neighbors who are proud to part of a walkable, diverse, historic residential neighborhood. It is an inner-city area.
Buses and light rail within a couple of blocks of the house. I also like to use Lyft for inexpensive, fast car service - especially convenient for travel to downtown where parking can be tricky.
Other Things to Note

This was our first trip to Denver and Julie's place was absolutely perfect. Her house is adorable and everything was just as described in her listing. The location was perfect, too. Lots of places to walk and shop and eat.
Julie was a fantastic host and very accommodating with our unpredictable arrival time. We arrived an hour after the ETA I had originally provided (due to road work), but Julie was very understanding. Julie's home is in a safe and convenient neighborhood with ample street parking and restaurants a few minute walk away. We especially appreciated the immaculate private bathroom connected to the equally clean bedroom. Water bottles were kindly provided in the room along with mints. A sizeable binder with local atteactions, craft pubs, and restaurants is provided in the room as well.
The interior decoration of Julie's home was beautiful. You'll find many fine examples of Central American art tastefully placed throughout her home. We had a very comfortable stay and only wish we had more time in Denver to enjoy her hospitality.
In short, if you seek a hotel quality stay with a very accommodating host look no further.
I had a wonderful experience with Julie. She was very welcoming. House and the room are very cozy; I had my private bathroom with shower. Everything was clean.
We had a great stay at Julie's. Her home is cozy and beautifully decorated. The room is lovely with a private bath and balcony. The rest of the house was open and accessible. Julie was a very welcoming host. We would not hesitate to stay with Julie again, it was a great location, in walking distance of many restaurants and bars.
My significant other and I stayed with Julie for three nights in August, 2015. Her home was a cool, restful space filled with interesting artwork and books. Parking was on the street with a guest pass, and space was always available. The bedroom with private bath and balcony was clean, pleasant and comfortable. Julie provided good suggestions on restaurants and art galleries which added to our visit, and both of us enjoyed talking with her and sharing thoughts on Denver and life in general. She was friendly and welcoming, but also respected our privacy. We would definitely stay here again.
Cozy, clean, and artsy place. Julie is very helpful in leaving simple instructions and is friendly recommending places to go. Private bath and a small patio are awesome. Location is convenient as well. Would recommend.
