This is a camper from the 70s who has been on the road for the last time and has found it's last resting place in the forest behind our house. We have left some of it's "original features" intact, such as the looking-almost-like-brick-plastic floor, the practically-marble plastic table, the oh-so-synthetic cushion covers, but we have painted over the fake walnut and given it a fresher whiter and more retro look.
It has two sections each with a double bed or a sofa section, so it can be used by 2-4 people, although probably most comfortable for two. It has a fully fitted kitchen with everything you might need to cook yourself a small meal in it, and a small bathroom with a porta-pot toilet. It has water, electricity, wi-fi 25/5, and heating.
If you arrive in Rygge airport, we pick you up there for NOK 400, and if you come from one of the other airports, we pick you up in Vestby free of charge. If you want to be picked up in Gardermoen, we charge you 500 NOK, Torp 700 NOK (all our pick up prices are cheaper than pubic transportation if you are two or more).
The price is for 2 people, for each additional person we charge 250 NOK more - children are free,
Went with 2 friends for a weekend and we had the best time! Bente and Pal were excellent hosts and the camper was more than we expected! Bente's cooking was to die for - we especially loved her brownies and moose stew. Staying in the camper was a one-of-a-kind opportunity and we were also able to learn way more about Norway than we otherwise would. We are already planning on returning!! This is the deal of the century - you must stay here if you come to Norway!
The Green Caravan and the setting were great. Paul picked us up from the station in Vestby and we were welcomed into the house to warm up and have a drink. Both Bente and Paul are really generous and welcoming with loads of interesting things to talk about. Bente's food was amazing.
The caravan was really snug and cozy. We stayed in the middle of winter and weren't cold at all.
I'd highly recommend a stay in one of their vans to get away from the city for a few days
Two of my friends and I stayed in the Camper and had an amazing time in Norway. Bente is incredibly accommodating and is one hell of a cook. We could not have stayed in a better place. We had wonderful conversations and learned a lot about Norway from a local. If I'm ever back in Norway, I know where I will stay again. Thank you for an unforgettable trip!
We had a great time at Bente's camping van :) Thanks!!
Our time with Bente and the rest of the family was utterly unique beyond comparison. The camper van had everything we needed and more (i recommend taking advantage of the CD collection and grooving to some 60s/70s/80s classics). Bente is a fantastic host with great recipes, conversation and general warmth. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful, much needed after some city living. If you are planning on going to Norway and want to experience something really precious then for God's sake go here. The green camper will forever remain close to our hearts, and I hope to return one day :) I couldn't recommend it more.
Bente! 1001 Stars lady and host! Highly highly recommended! your smile makes it all!!
we have stayed only one night after been picked up in the airport.
Lovely family with a very nice, cozy and well kept caravan!
Great breakfast and many good tips.
Luisa and Adi
We came late at night and been picked up from the Airport
Bente is a very open minded person with a lot of humor and quite interesting observations about people and folks.
She is very helpful and like to please her guests. She will also offer to make sandwiches for the day and give you somes brownies, because as she says Oslo is veeery expensive!
We, my 11 year daughter and I, enjoyed our stay very much. The green Hipster Camper is extremely sweet and romantic.
We highly recommend the place.
Thank you Bente and we would very much appreciate if you could remember to send us the receipe for the brownies ;-)
We had a very fun and relaxing stay in the green caravan. The caravan itself is very clean and cosy and had a great retro style. Bente and Pal are very welcoming and we learnt a lot about Norway. Breakfast was included in the price and the home baked bread is yummy. For extra money Bente will also make you lunch and dinner if you want. Her cooking is very good, especially liked the Norweigan stew. The local area is beautiful and very peaceful. We went on a boat trip on the fiord and did some walks in the forest. I told my mum about our visit and she wants to stay too in the green caravan!
Lovely, interesting hosts. Easy-going atmosphere: ideal for easing into the timezone from west coast US. Do take up Bente on the meal service as not only will this be more convenient, but the food (and company) are quite good!
You won't regret a stay here. It's a complete retreat, even without the amazing food. We loved the green camper. And, Bente is one of a kind - charming, smart, and a trove of Norwegian trivia.
