If you are on a budget and want to come to a peaceful and tranquil part of Cumbria situated on the Duddon Estuary we fit the bill perfectly.
The Duddon is a large sandy estuary lying between Morecambe Bay and the West Cumbrian coast. It opens into the Irish Sea just north of Barrow. A total length of shoreline of 45 kms making it the second largest estuary in Cumbria after the Solway Firth. Askam In Furness is situated directly on the estuary and our house is a five minute walk to the beach.
The Historic town of Ulverston is a market & festival town in the South Lakeland District of Cumbria , is just 10 minutes drive away. With an assortment of specialist shops, cosy pubs, traditional markets and cultured hotspots, renowned for the Sir John Barrow Monument and Stan Laurel, legendary comedian and the town's most famous son.
Cumbria is home to the Lake District National Park, an inspiring area of natural beauty that offers an enormous range of relaxing and rejuvenating experiences. With breathtaking mountains and 16 sparkling lakes, Cumbria’s unsurpassed scenery has inspired the works of many writers and poets, including William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter.
The delights of the Lakes are about 20 minutes drive, Coniston, & Windermere are just waiting to be explored! Whether it's a gentle ramble or scaling Coniston Old Man walking is a must to appreciate the stunning scenery.

We had a great stay at Kevin's. The house was clean, comfortable and had a beautiful view. He provided us with breakfast in the morning and recommended a good place down the road for dinner.
Great stay with Kevin. Nice room and friendly welcome. I would like to give 6 star for you if possible.
Thank for host.
My wife and I have a short but wonderful stay with Kevin and Linda. They are really welcome, nice and prestative. The room is very comfortable and their homemade marmalade and preserves are delicious ! Would definitely stay again =)
I stayed one night with Kevin and Linda, they and Ruby their lovely dog made me very welcome. The room was as described and the bed was very comfortable. So I had a good night's sleep. Kevin was on hand in the morning to provide a good breakfast of cereal and toast. I am happy to recommend them and will use them again in the future.
Kevin and Linda were the perfect hosts. They really made us feel at home and trusted us with the house keys. Their home is lovely, very clean, tidy and warm. Ruby the dog is very well trained and a joy to be with. They recommended plenty of things for us to see and do and went that extra mile to find out info without even asking. It felt like a home from home and we will definitely revisit again.
I've been welcomed by Linda and her dog, Ruby and have a nice chat. Later on I've met Kevin and they are both a nice couple. The room is comfy and the house located in quiet area, a stone's throw from the beach. I've been staying only one night for a business trip in Ulverston but recommended to whoever to visit this part of the Lake District. Don't miss Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre, a Buddhist temple. It's worth a visit!
Stayed with Kevin & Linda before and again had a lovely stay in their comfortable home where nothing was too much trouble. Great base location for the south peninsular area.
