Gorgeous simple wooden house with beautiful rice field views all the way to Mount Agung. 2 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and landscaped garden. Peaceful and calm but only 20 minutes walk from Ubud main road through the rice fields or 5 minutes by road.
For your next stay in Bali, why pay for a hotel when you can have an entire house with a gorgeous private garden and rice field views for cheaper?!
Our cozy wooden house in the rice fields has views on both sides, with an uninterrupted view to Mount Agung. You can get up early and watch the sunrise over the volcano and the mists in the rice fields from the balcony - magical!
There are 2 bedrooms, each with a double bed and mosquito nets, and 2 living areas, over 2 floors- ideal for up to 4 people with an additional travel cot for a child if required. There is an open-air (covered) kitchen, which is lovely for sitting in and enjoying your breakfast in the rice field breezes. The bathroom is located to the side of the main house across a covered corridor and has hot water and includes a bathtub and separate shower. The toilet is separate from the main bathroom.
We built this home for our own family and we want you to enjoy staying there as if it was your own home. We've included everything you may need during your stay in Ubud. The kitchen is equipped with a gas hob, fridge, toaster oven, rice cooker, blender, plates, cutlery and cooking equipment. In the living room is a TV, dvd player and a selection of books and DVDs. We even have a washing machine so you don't need to worry about taking trips to the laundry.
The gazebo in our walled garden is perfect for relaxing in and there is ample parking space behind a lockable gate (we are located on a road with full car access, unlike many Ubud villas which can only be accessed by motorbike).
There is a lovely walk through the rice fields into Ubud which takes about half an hour. We're located about 1.5km away from the Yoga Barn so this is ideal if you're planning on taking some yoga classes while in Ubud. I can also supply a yoga mat on request and our upstairs living area is ideal for practicing at the house.
Just down the road is a lovely Indonesian restaurant (Sawah Indah) which is perfect for dinner if you don't feel like going into Ubud. We're also within a few minutes walk of Bale Udang and Janggar Ulam restaurants - search for them online to see how gorgeous they are and how yummy the food looks! If you just feel like a night in, many restaurants in Ubud deliver free of charge and we keep takeaway menus and a local mobile phone in the house for your use.
We provide bed linens and towels and the house will be stocked with tea, coffee, sugar, soap and bottled water before your arrival.
If you have young children, feel free to make use of the travel cot and mattress in the house. We can also supply toys and books on request.
Breakfast can be arranged for an additional cost and we can also organise cooking classes, airport pickup, day trips, motorbike hire and other transport. My husband Made is Balinese and grew up in Ubud and will be happy to show you around some amazing sights off the beaten tourist trail!
Wi-Fi internet is available - please ask for details.
We live just down the road so we're easy to get hold of if you have any problems. We also provide a mobile phone with local sim card so you can call us if you need anything.
We look forward to welcoming you into our home!

Interaction with Guests
We live very close to the house and normally pop over a couple of times during your stay to check everything is ok. However we appreciate many guests enjoy the privacy of the house so we'll generally leave you to it unless you have any problems.
We've also enjoyed drinks, dinner and days out with many of our guests in the past - we're keen to make new friends with those who want to!
If you need us for anything we're just a phone call away and we provide a phone with local sim so you can get in touch easily.
Our house is located in a small village on the outskirts of Ubud with lots of families and a community feel. We're blessed with beautiful rice field views but still very close to the centre of Ubud. As this is mainly a local area there are lots of great restaurants around with good local food at reasonable prices.
Getting around by motorbike is the easiest option in Ubud and we provide motorbike hire for 50k rp per day. It's also possible to catch a local bus "bemo" from the main road into town. Taxis (private cars) are easily available from asking at Sawah indah restaurant or on the main road.
We also provide a transport service to anywhere you need. Prices are in the house manual or ask me for a specific destination. We offer airport pickup for 350,000rp
The house has full car access and secure car parking.
As we built this house as our family home, we expect our guests to treat it with respect as if it was their own. As we live in a quiet residential area and sound travels easily over the rice fields we ask that guests don't play loud music or have wild parties late at night!
Smoking only outside the house please - the outside kitchen, balcony and gazebo are all lovely places to sit and enjoy the breeze.
We had a great time at Rachel's place! It was just as described. it is a bit removed from the main road, but there are both cheaper and fancier restaurants nearby. The walk through the rice fields is a real treat and we did it almost every day. Definitely try Warung Mangga Madu for reasonable and delicious food and coffee - it's just down the road from where the rice field walk ends.
Rachel met us at the house and made us feel very welcome. Everything we needed was provided, including coffee, towels, soap, etc. The shower was legitimately hot, which was a real treat. Staff came by to do blessings and maintenance throughout our stay, keeping the place in tip top shape.
The stairs to the upper bedroom were a little steep which could be a problem for small children or people who have trouble getting around, but it was fine for us. Also, the place is 'integrated' with nature so you will need to prepared to welcome the critters that may share the home with you. Again, we enjoyed being in the countryside, bugs and all. Embrace it, you're in Bali! If you don't want ants on the table you'll have to go back to whatever cold, non-tropical place you probably came from :)
This was my first airbnb experience and I stayed with a friend at 2BD Wood house in Ubud rice fields. The communication with Rachel was very good from before we arrived and also during the stay. We got replies to any questions very fast and very accurately. The residence looks even nicer than in the pictures! It was really fantastic, with a fantastic view, very silent, and with good internet access, water, fan, kitchen facilities etc.. We were warmly welcomed by Rachel upon arrival, and we met her husband Made the day after. Rachel and Made produced a nice guidebook, with pictures and activities we could do and they were always ready to help us organize whatever we wanted to do or with travels/driver. Rachel and Made live very near in case of need (we didn't have any problems). I will never forget this experience and if I go back to Ubud I certainly hope there will be a place at Rachel's and Made's wonderful place!! Thanks
Rachel and Made were really super kind :) I will not forget the happy Indonesian song and dance Made taught us in the car! The house was cozy and the view was absolutely what I hadn't seen in my life. As for the inconvenience, it's a bit far from the center of Ubud so drive was must-do. And as it was surrounded by rice paddies, we got a lot of bug bites. However, there are more advantages you can get at Rachel and Made's place. I will not forget the happy memory I had there.
Rachel and Made were excellent host and we couldn't have asked for better! They made us feel really welcomed and were always ready to assist us when required, be it for luggage storage or getting a driver. House and compound is exactly as you see in the photos. Clean, comfortable and located in a nice neighbourhood with great views of the padi fields. We arrived pretty late at night due to a delay in our water rafting earlier in the day. Driver dropped us off at the nearby Sawah Indah restaurant. Had some trouble finding the place initially in the dark but the restaurant staff knew Rachel and helped locate the house pretty easily. All the info you need regarding the house and the neighbourhood is well documented in the files in the living room. Food recommendations were cheap and good as promised!
Highly recommended and will be back again for a longer stay next time. Thanks for the wonderful stay Rachel and Made!
Wooden villa is what you see. Rachel is a great host and help us settled in with lots of info complied onto files for easy reference. Location is along a quite side road amount the padi field and 3km from Ubud town.
Thanks Rachel for your nice place. It was very peaceful to stay there, walking early morning through the rice fields, so beautiful...
It was a nice cosy stay. The surrounding is serene. Waking up early in the morning to see the padi fields getting lighted up was a peaceful experience. We cooked some of our meals and ate at the open kitchen. Again a nice experience. Made and Wayan drove us around. Getting around may not be as convenient without a car but I would say just staying at the house doing nothing and see the day past would be good enough experience for a vacation away from city life.
