This place is a hidden gem. I went up there for NYE with my girlfriend and we absolutely loved our time at the cabin. The cabin itself feels like a hotel suite and has everything you could need (minus an oven).
The cabin is about a mile away from the gap and we hiked the "Mind the Gap" trail of both Mt Tammany and Mt Minsi which were less than 10 minutes from the house. The views from the back are beautiful (minus I-80 across the way which isn't too bad). The fireplace is beautiful and we loved sitting by it relaxing at night.
Jeffrey was helpful and communicative and we would absolutely stay again.
My husband and I had a wonderful time and really couldn't ask for a better experience. I loved the entire home and was pleasantly surprised to find the kitchen fully stocked with all different appliances and silverware that we didn't need to bring - it was fabulous! In addition, we were able to use the pamphlets that were left inside the house to find activities to do during the day on Friday, we did a lot of shopping that day!! We are planning another trip really soon!! Very truly yours Mr & Mrs Devlin
So, the drive to this cottage is a little sketchy, and involves going on a gravel road that runs RIGHT along active railroad tracks (like the road is separated from the tracks by 12 inches of grass). Once you get inside the house though, the place is totally lovely, well-renovated, with a beautiful view of the river. Other than not having an oven, which proved a little tricky for making pizza, it was well-equipped and cozy -- perfect for hanging out.
We really enjoyed our time at the cabin. The river is gorgeous and maybe the best part of the house. There were geese and swans both days we were there. The stars were clear with no light pollution in sight.
The house is very clean and new. There were plenty of supplies, including extra blankets and towels. Each room has a TV, and the WiFi works well.
We didn't realize there wasn't an oven, and we didn't know that the property is next to a train track. We never heard any trains, though. We were sad there wasn't an option for baking/roasting, to be honest.
The owners were always prompt to help out, including when we got lost trying to find the cabin at night on that dirt road.
Oh, and we enjoyed the deck out back and the fire pit/grill seating area.
Overall, a great experience and good value.
Very nice property. Renovated cabin, everything was spotless and the kitchen was fantastically equipped (no oven, but there's a great grill). Rooms were spacious and comfortable. It is well located, a short drive from many hikes and activities. There's a bit of noise from the highway across the river, but you get used to it.
We would stay at the cabin again.
Our family grew up on the Delaware River and this is a bungalow very special to us. This is the perfect place for a relaxing getaway in Winter, Summer, Spring, or Fall!
