The Space

Awesome 1 bedroom in a 3 bedroom 2 bath house in West Oakland - between the MacArthur and West Oakland BART. Currently inhabited by two 20 something queer identified humans - one in the tech industry and one in education!

The room itself has a fabulous full size bed that comfortably fits two. We also have a great couch and I'm pretty sure there's an air mattress floating around here somewhere.
The house is super clean and minimalistic and is charming in its own right.

We have one dog, Cooper, who is super friendly and will be obsessed with you the minute you walk in the door.

Our neighborhood reads a little rough, but I LOVE it. You can walk to the BART, but if we are home we can drive you or explore the wonders of Oakland while you're here. I've been here 4 years and have never had an issue. It's charming and authentic and close to everything!

Can't wait to meet you!!

  • Great stay at AK's place! My partner and I's first time using airbnb and we felt very comfortable, definitely a different feel than staying at a hotel. AK was warm and welcoming and the room was just what we needed. Home was very clean including restroom and shower. Their puppy Cooper was a sweetie!

  • A.K was an amazing host! The house was perfect for us and our dog Iso. A.K and Cooper went above and beyond for all of us, allowing us to stay later and do work until our next place was available. I highly recommend staying with A.K if you are looking for a place in Oakland.

  • A.K. was a super hostess, very friendly and welcoming and full of great information about sites and sounds of Oakland. The house is minimalist in furnishings but comfortable. The bed is a full so was not big enough for the two of us to sleep comfortably but we were provided with an air mattress that was very comfy. For a relaxed, comfortable and affordable place to stay in the Bay Area you can't go wrong.

  • AK and Emily are really great hosts. There is both room for being private but also social with the hosts. AK were really informative and helpful by giving good tips for trips and tours. They have a big kitchen for cooking which is nice if you enjoy preparing your own food. They also have a dog called Anderson Cooper, who is just adorable and almost as friendly as the hosts. We love San Francisco and would definitely stay here again, if the opportunity comes.

  • It was our first airbnb and we had such a great time, we wouldn't have expected it to be so easy and uncomplicated. AK and Emily welcomed us warmly in their home and gave us great suggestions for our travel. Hope to meet them again!

  • The house ia clean and Ak provided a very good place. We were looking for a place close to San Francisco, but if you want to rent a car, there is a terrible traffic to go to San Francisco. If you want to use a public transportation that's ok, beam cause there is a Bart near the home.

Director of Training - Beyond Differences
I am the Director of training for an education nonprofit dedicated to ending social isolation and bullying in middle schools. I love good food, beautiful beaches, intense fitness programs and meeting new people. My dog, Cooper, is THE raddest animal on the planet. We are scarily similar - mostly when it comes to our attention span and charm ;) I love to host! I am all about hanging out with the people who stay here. You're cool. I'm cool. Let's get thai food.
