Essence Festival deal/house swap...you can have my great house for your Portland (OR) or other cool location house. I have pets, so need guest to water/feed them, but they are great!
MUST LOVE PETS!! I would love to give a deal to a pet lover. My dates are June 19-24 and I'm looking for a mutual deal so you get a great place w great pet hosts while I go visit family.
This is my primary residence and I am hoping to find a person who loves pets and wants to stay in a great house in the best neighborhood in New Orleans while I go visit family. You must be kind and trustworthy, of course.
I'm in the Marigny close to the French Quarter and Bywater. It's 4 blocks from Frenchmen st, but safe and quiet enough to enjoy the quiet when you get home.
My home, which has queen bed, huge open kitchen and living area, 2 bathrooms, and a little nook with full futon (serta springs--very comfy) sofa bed. Oh, and laundry, too.
I am renting my private home in exchange for super discounted price so that you (& friends/family) can help me by watching my pets--2 dogs, 2 cats--while I go visit family. They are easy to care for and you don't need to walk them at all bc all they really need is someone to stay at my home for food, water, and companionship. I have a nice yard that they stay in, but they just like lots of human attention and treats. :-) I like knowing someone is staying at the house so they don't feel so alone, but they are very easy to care for.
Staying at Kerrie's place in this neighborhood was a nice experience overall. Her pets are very cute and sweet so staying with them gave the entire experience a warm homey feel. There are some really good restaurants within walking distance as well.
Kerrie's house was a great place to stay in NOLA. The animals are all very sweet, and welcoming. You will miss them when you leave. The bicycles made getting around very convenient. And the neighborhood is a special place, full of friendly people.
Beautiful apartment in a lovely section of New Orleans. Kerry and I did a house swap and I was happy with the experience. Her apartment is beautifully decorated and her pets are very sweet.
We stayed at Kerrie's house for a week and watched her pets (2 dogs and two cats). We had a great time - house was fun and and had some historical aspects....also great walking distance to French Quarter as well as local restaurants and markets.
If you do end up watching her pets - we enjoyed them as well. All the animals like human interaction so you definitely should be a "pet person."
We would stay there again! We didn't get a chance to meet Kerrie but had no problems communicating over phone and texts.
We had an amazing time staying at Kerrie's beautiful home in a great neighbourhood. The girl has STYLE, plus her pets are amazing. They are so loveable and easygoing and sweet. We brought the dogs for lots of long walks along the river and it was so fun. We didn't want to leave. Thanks Kerrie for the lovely stay!
Amazing house in an amazing city! We had a fantastic time in Kerrie's wonderful and so typical home, in the great Marigny. The pets were adorable and we wish we could stay longer with them, and meet Kerrie! Thank you again, and as you say here, laissez les bons temps rouler!
Kerrie's place is perfecting located near the French Quarter and the use of the Bikes made the weekend so much easier! She gave us great tips on the area and we visited many of them. The accomodations were very nice and updated but with still that Eclectic feel you expect from New Orleans. Would highly recomment and hopefully I will get to visit again in the future.

I love New Orleans and am excited you are considering staying at my place, although you may not even see me bc you have your own private space (separate from my living space). I am happy to steer you in the right direction for food and music. I love my pets, so am happy to consider your furry travel companion. Your dog must be ok with cats, too, bc they often hang on the porch.
I'm an occupational therapist, but primarily teach (university), ride a motor scooter, and feel lucky to live in the Marigny/new Orleans.
