The guest room in my house is cozy and bright. A WWII-era character home with original hardwood floors will comfortably fit up to 3 people. There are two adjoining rooms (both can function as bedrooms and/or one BR + one sitting room) on the second floor of the house - which are both yours to occupy while here. So you have lots of space for yourself, your stuff and adventure planning. Parking on-site, easy access to grocery stores, gas stations, pharmacy and all kinds of restaurants (from local fare to fast food) nearby. My lovely dog Blue will also welcome you into our space, he's a keeper. If you want to get around the city by bike, I have an extra one available for $10/day. We can negotiate payment for the bike upon your arrival.
Free WIFI. Towels and linens for bedroom/bathroom are provided. Guests can access kitchen ammenities, including cookware, dishes as long as they are tidy and respectful. You are welcome to use the washer and dryer on-site, but must provide your own products. Shared bathroom has awesome original clawfoot bathtub & shower.
I've travelled extensively, and have called Thunder Bay my home for most of my life. As such, I appreciate what travelers like and need to know about a new place, such as the best places to get coffee, pastries, food and a pint. I also have a ton of local knowledge and can point you in the right direction for just about everything this community has to offer; galleries, shopping, local attractions and must-sees.
Because of my wanderlust, there is a good possibility you may have the house to yourself. I will let you know at the time of the booking.
I stayed at Leigh's for quite some time and it was perfect! The location is great, her dog Blue is very cute and Leigh herself is a great host. She made sure I had everything I could possibly need and made me feel very comfortable in her home as well as in the city.
Leigh along with her incredibly good-natured dog blue make you feel at home immediately. Leigh is very accommodating and goes out of her way to ensure guests have a good experience (recommending sights to see, restaurants to try, etc). The space is surprisingly roomy, private and very tidy. Renting her bike was a phenomenal way to appreciate the beauty of Thunder Bay and I highly recommend giving it a try. Also, if you get a chance I would encourage engaging Leigh in a conversation about education (she is a teacher going for a PhD in education). It was very insightful! Thanks again Leigh for having me!
It was very relaxing and super easy going stay with Leigh.
The room is set up very nicely, comes with couch and desk semi-separate space where you can just read book or hangout.
The location is very convenient as well.
I enjoyed my stay. Thank you, Leigh!
Leigh was a nice and helpful host, she answered very quickly to our request although it was a last minute booking. The place was spacious and there was everything we needed.
We had a great time staying at Leighs. She was very helpful with local tips and had provided towels and extras for our baby. The space itself is great with plenty of space for luggage and clothes. Leigh wasn't hone during our stay, but had left us lots of notes so we could find everything, no problem.
All round great trip.
Nice space. We used the kitchen and cooked dinner & breakfast. Convenient location and we enjoyed Blue, the sweetest of dogs.
Leigh is a wonderful host; very accomodating, friendly and easy-going. Staying in her home felt like having an awesome roommate, though we were rarely there at the same time and she went out of town for a few of the days I was staying leaving me with the entire home to myself. The room is very cozy and private on its own floor of the house. Her home is clean and adorably decorated and had everything I needed. It is in a great location within walking distance to the places I wanted to spend my time at. Also, her dog Blue is lovely!
I would definitely stay at Leigh's again in the future.
