It's definitely an unforgettable experience staying in Pavitra's house. Pavitra's parents are so nice more than just as hosts, her mother always welcome me with a cup of tea every day I came back and I got lots of informations of Nepali culture from our nighty chat in the kitchen, she's like a friend for me, Pavitra's father was so helpful since he definitely knows everything & everywhere of Kathmandu and always be friendly taking me to the place that I wanted go to. Don't worry about the facilities they get everything here, the location is also great - near the ring road, easily to get bus to everywhere, far away from the crowd, if this is your first time staying in Nepal and especially for those who wants to come to Kathmandu for long stay (work or internship), here is definitely more than just an accommodation for you!
Pavitra and her hubby picked me up from the airport even though it wasn't arranged. Meeting them and their parents was a good start to my stay in Nepal. The room is cosy and the thick blanket really helps me sleep through the cold weather. Hot water is available and Pavitra mum was kind enough to show me how to use it and offered me tea. It was a short stay but they really help me a lot during the stay. If it's your first time in Kathmandu it's a definite to stay here.. The warmth that I received is a good experience.
If you are looking for a quiet, clean and vey well located place in Kathmandu, and to have a real experience with local nepalis, do not have doubts this is the right place for all reasons! Right from the beginning Pavitra was totally available to help me in the first days in Kathmandu with everything as she picked me up in the airport when I arrived, took me to the places I needed to know, showed me the best places to eat, to buy food, etc. When I arrived I thought I would stay far from the city centre of Kathmandu and that would be a problem but in the end I realized I couldn't have stayed in a better area, Patan - Lalitpur (city of beauty), where major part of expats live, and who are working for NGOs as UN. This area is much more quiet and relaxing than the crazy and polluted centre of Kathmandu. Here you can find all services and facilities as gym (International club), spa, yoga centre, very nice places to eat or have a drink, all places with wi-fi,..and transports to everywhere.
The house is far from the crowd, with good conditions and very nice environment.
Pavitra and her parents helped me so much that this was an unforgettable experience in my life with a lovely nepali family with whom I learned a lot about their culture, food, religion. Pavitra´s father was always ready to take me to any place I wasn't feeling comfortable to take the public transports. Pavitra's mother was so kind that she offered me tea daily during my stay and made me feel healthy all the time with her delicious food.
So, if you want to have more than just accommodation, you will definitely book for this place.
