Interaction with Guests
We like to greet our guests either when they arrive or shortly after they've moved in. After that, we're happy to chit-chat with guests, or not. We live right upstairs so sometimes we bump into guests and end up talking for awhile. We've had guests who invited us into the apartment for a glass of wine and we had a lovely time. It all depends on what the guests want.
We are responsive and attentive hosts, always happy to give tips on the neighborhood and New York in general. We want to make your stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. I speak Spanish, my wife speaks Italian and we have been happy New Yorkers for many, many years.
Crown Heights is one of the most beautiful, exciting, artistic and safest neighborhoods in Brooklyn. The flat is a ten minute walk from Franklin Avenue, the center of Crown Heights, where you'll find many of Brooklyn's most exciting new bars and restaurants. There are bagel shops, cafes, and grocery stores just a block away from us.
A charming walk up beautiful Eastern Parkway are many of Brooklyn's best attractions including the Brooklyn Museum, Botanic Gardens, and Prospect Park. The Brooklyn Children's Museum is right around the corner from our place.
We are a five minute walk from the 3 train at Nostrand Avenue and the 2 and 5 trains at President Street. It takes approximately 40 minutes, door to door, to get from the apartment to Times Square. It takes 45 minutes to get from our place to Central Park.
There is plenty of free, on-street parking right in front of our house.
By cab, the apartment is 25-30 minutes from Laguardia Airport and 40-50 minutes from JFK, depending on traffic.
No smoking, pets, parties or loud music. Please be courteous and polite to our neighbors. Guests can use the back garden, unless we have informed them ahead of time that we'll be using it. Guests are also welcome to sit on the front stoop and enjoy the block's ambience. Enjoy the wonderful neighborhood, with all its extraordinary culture, great food, and lovely greenery.
Eric was friendly and accommodating, and his apartment was the perfect spot for touring both the attractions of Brooklyn and Manhattan. The apartment is very well equipped and slept the five of us very comfortably. Highly recommended!
Eric's apartment was a fairly short taxi ride from JFK. Beware taxi queue's can be long. Eric can supply you with a car service number which was very efficient for us and was only one of the many things that Eric was able to help us with. We were there for six nights and loved staying in Brooklyn having only ever been on Manhattan previously. The apartment was a good size for the two of us. The second bed was the fold down lounge and was ideal. Everything worked in the kitchen. The bathroom was immaculately clean and overall the apartment was really comfortable and suited us. There was a folder of info supplied by Eric which had some great restaurant recommendations and local sights to see. The subway is close by and we felt safe in the neighbourhood, even at night, but we did stick to main roads as advised. There is air-conditioning - a plus on the hot summer days but Eric also had fans in the room which was also great. Eric was very accessible and replied to all our queries and texts and knowing that he and his lovely family were just upstairs was also reassuring. Eric was flexible in his arrangement with us and we have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to people who are looking to stay somewhere away from the noise and bustle of Manhattan and in a lovely local neighbourhood.
Our first Airbnb rental was a positive one! Our daughter, who lives in Brooklyn, recommended that we use Airbnb to look for an apartment for our stay, and we are glad that we did! Eric and Rachael were gracious hosts; very friendly and easily accessible. As shown on the website, this clean, comfortable, and bright apartment was a perfect blend of old world charm with contemporary touches. Close to transportation and a street away from Eastern Parkway, this lovely brownstone was close to restaurants and attractions; all these spots helpfully listed in a manual that Eric created for his guests. We enjoyed visiting with our daughter, and staying in the brownstone flat on the tree lined street! We look forward to staying here again!!
Eric was wonderful. The neighborhood was convenient. The supermarket and the subway are just a few blocks away. The apartment is just as you see it in the pictures provided by Eric. It has plenty of natural light, it is big and clean. It has a nice garden at the back.
This is everything Airbnb is supposed to be! Eric was a wonderful, attentive, intuitive host. Directions for checkin were clearly described in the house rules and once inside, a helpful manual spelled out everything else we might need to know. The apartment was convenient, well-appointed, beautifully decorated and super convenient. Eric made sure we were comfortable and gave fantastic restaurant suggestions. Truly, my favorite Airbnb experience to date.
Very nice apartment. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Host was very considerate and approachable, and even kind enough to bring me a couple beers when I arrived. Would definitely stay again!
I live in Crown Heights with my husband and newborn baby girl a few blocks from Eric's place. We rented Eric's apartment for my parents to stay in while they visited their new granddaughter. They had a wonderful experience with the apartment and Eric as their host. The apartment was spacious and comfortable and the house manual was very comprehensive. They are already looking forward to their next stay. Thanks for making my folks feel right at home, Eric!
