-Queen size bed
-Pull-out sofa
-Microwave and oven
-Full refrigerator and freezer (and ice-maker!)
-Everything you need for cooking, including pots, pans, dishes, silverware. olive oil, butter, and lots more
-Private bathroom with new tub and shower
-Flat screen TV
-AppleTV which includes free Netflix Streaming, HBO, ESPN and more
-High speed wireless internet

Guest access

Guests have access to the backyard, the front stoop, laundry (for a small additional fee), and anything that's in the apartment.

Interaction with guests

We like to greet our guests either when they arrive or shortly after they've moved in. After that, we're happy to chit-chat with guests, or not. We live right upstairs so sometimes we bump into guests and end up talking for awhile. We've had guests who invited us into the apartment for a glass of wine and we had a lovely time. It all depends on what the guests want.

We are responsive and attentive hosts, always happy to give tips on the neighborhood and New York in general. We want to make your stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. I speak Spanish, my wife speaks Italian and we have been happy New Yorkers for many, many years.

My family and I enjoyed our six days stay in Eric`s apartment. The bedroom is large with lot`s of closet space, bathroom nice and new (or it felt new at least), fully equipped kitchen, charming living room with a nice dining area. Vinyl records and a variety of books add to the charm of this place. The hallway to garden entrance was used to store bikes and stroller so a little difficult to access, but good if you wish to bring your own stroller. Communication and check-in was easy and Eric had written a helpful manual full of tips on where to eat breakfast, what to see in Brooklyn, where to order Pizza from and so on. The area is nice and quiet and there is easy access to busses and subways.

We’re too middle-aged for being digital natives, so this was our first Airbnb experience. We wouldn’t have it expected to be so great – especially since friends had told us about bad experiences in New York Airbnb’s. One of the most important reason why we picked this apartment were Eric’s vivid and accurate descriptions of the place. He’s a word man („better than a bird man“, as Jim Morrison said) and a wonderful host, together with Rachael and their two kids. In the last century we had stayed in Manhattan and Queens, so after a long time we came back with our 13-year-old daughter and this time finally wanted to get to know Brooklyn. This was the right decision, and Crown Heights is a great neighborhood where you can see the changes going on right now in New York. Ecuatorian café Colina Cuervo on Nostrand Ave is really a great place with excellent coffee (something Europeans often miss in the US), and on Franklin and Bedford Ave we found a lot of very good restaurants. Another advantage: you’re within walking distance to Prospect Park, and the subway is only at a stone’s throw from the apartment. During the 12 days of our stay we were walking a lot throughout Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens, and when we came home we always felt at home in the apartment. It’s spacious, bright and well-equipped. When we arrived the heat was tropical but the air condition worked just fine. Eric and Rachael did a great job renovating the house, and we appreciated the beautiful parquet floor. The bathroom is nice and quite big. There are maps and guidebooks and Eric has written a very useful personal list of recommendations for the neighborhood. There is a tv, but what I liked much more is the record player and the vinyl collection that reaches from Bach via Billie Holiday through to Grateful Dead. Unfortunately I didn’t have the time to listen myself through the whole collection. Since we were always on the run, unfortunately our contacts with our hosts were rather scarce, but once they invited us to a glass of wine and it was very interesting to learn more about their life as a young family in one of the most interesting parts of the city. They helped us a lot, let us read their copies of the New York Times, we could wash our clothes in the machine in the basement, and they even gave us recommendations for the Catskills and Adirondacks where we continued our journey.

This was my first time booking an Airbnb myself so I wasn't sure what to expect - but all check in information was very clear, the flat is charming, fully stocked, and spotless, and all the useful information about the area Eric provides his guests is fantastic and super thoughtful. He's very welcoming and even checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. It was the perfect area - close to plenty of stores, food, bars, and attractions. There's even a 24/7 Rite Aid a few blocks away. Hopefully I'll be able to book with him again!

We had such a great experience staying in Eric & Rachael's Brownstone apartment in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn. The apartment has everything you need- clean dishes, air conditioning, umbrellas, and all those little things that are so easy to leave behind when packing. The apartment looks just like the pictures- spacious, clean and full of natural light. Be sure to check out the photo album of the renovation process that Eric and Rachael made available in the apartment. The bathroom was newly renovated and I can't put enough emphasis on how spacious and clean the apartment was. We found the neighborhood to be warm and welcoming. Each street has its own personality, so be sure to walk around and explore the area. Doing so will give you a real sense of the Caribbean culture and friendliness of the neighborhood. We also appreciated the entry process to the apartment. Without going into detail, I'll say that it really made us feel safe when coming home late at night. Lastly, Rachael was nice enough to come outside and take a picture of us on the stairs of their brownstone, which turned out to be better than any selfie we could've ever taken ourselves. Small acts of kindness such as this one only speaks to the good character of the family. We would stay here again.
