The Space

Apartment 37 is a great space for those who are looking for quiet seclusion – and a bustling neighbourhood.

•Two double-bedroomed apartment
•Clean and contemporary
•Great location
•Close to Town
•Well connected to public transport
•Airport pick up can be arranged

90 sqm (968 sqft) fully furnished, two-bedroom apartment on the third floor of a landmark apartment building. It is decorated and maintained to a high standard, with contemporary design furniture and fittings, and all you'd expect in a modern apartment.

The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, fridge, oven and hobs, with pots and pans, utensils, crockery and cutlery, cups and glassware.

The rate includes all utilities, refuse collection, and electricity, cable TV, and internet hot spot, but excludes telephone - there isn't one.

Parking is NOT included, and a car is unnecessary in Dublin anyway.

Guest Access

Guests can access all areas - the apartment is entirely at their disposal during their stay.

Interaction with Guests

We try to meet our guests on arrival, give them a quick tour of the apartment, hand over the keys and then leave them to their own devices. We are on the phone for urgent situations and live nearby.

If guests wanted to be met at Dublin Airport, we can arrange a pick up in the arrivals hall at a reasonable fee.

The Neighborhood

Barrow Street, and the streets in the immediate vicinity, are rapidly becoming the trendiest places for IT people to live and hang out. A stay here will put you right in the heart of the buzzy, hip and trendy Dublin. There are grocery shops, cafés, a doctor's surgery, and a pharmacy: all in a bustling lively and youthful community. In a city where night life is as important as sightseeing, it is good to know there are bars and restaurants all within a short walk.

The Grand Canal bank makes a lovely linear park for strolling in leafy Dublin 4, and the city centre is a short DART ride or an easy walk. The Grand Canal Basin is the new hot spot for concerts, plays, water-sports and all kinds of other activities.

Getting around

Situated conveniently for DART and commuter rail services, Grand Canal Dock station is 100m away from the front door of the apartment building. Buses pass on adjacent streets and are all city-bound. Taxis are so abundant as to be embarassing. NEW: The DublinBikes scheme has just put in a new station for the very successful rent-a-bike. Look them up.

Other Things to Note

We cannot provide parking - don't bring a car if you can help it.

  • Thank you to Marie-Louise and Marcus for a great week in Dublin.
Ballsbridge is an excellent area for us. The apartment is super handy: next to the Grand Canal Dock DART station and a small supermarket across the building. The apartment had everything we needed. Marcus even returned with an international adapter. It was great to be back in Ireland. Thank you for making our stay easy and comfortable.

  • My stay in Dublin was just great. The convention center was just a 10 min walk away. I did not expect to see (email hidden)ly city. The docs area is just fantastic - I believe it is nicer in the summer. Marie-Louise has a great place at a great location. Everything there, comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, nice living room, quiet place. Even the DART station with the train to bring you directly to Howth if you intend to go there for a visit is just a minute away. Definitely a perfect place to stay in Dublin, highly recommended. Thank you.

  • Marie-Louise and Marcus were fantastic hosts! They greeted us at the apartment, showed us around, and were quick to respond when we had questions. They went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything that we needed. The apartment was clean and exactly what we expected from the photos. The location was good, just a short walk or DART trip from city center.

  • We had a great time in Dublin. Marie-Louise organized for us a pick-up at the Airport with Thomas who was a very informative driver. Marcus, was there to great us and show us around the apartment which was very clean, functional and had everything that we needed. It was as expected based on the pictures.

The apartment is a 25 minutes walk to the major attractions which was very convenient for us. or if you want you can take a bus.

There is a grocery store across the street and a lovely market/deli a 5 minutes walk on the other side of the bridge.

    We would recommend staying there.

  • Everything OK, the host was very kind and helpful. Convenient location in the docks area, across the street from supermarket, very close to train/metro station, with several cafes and restaurants within walking distance.

  • Three of us had the pleasure of enjoying Marie-Louise's flat for a three-night stay in Dublin. The neighbourhood is absolutely superb, with a Eurospar grocery store across the street and a number of excellent cafes and restaurants within a short walk.

(website hidden)'s offices are next door to the building which made giving taxi directions *very* easy. There's lots of life and activity during the day but never to the point of disturbance and we found it very quiet and peaceful at night. The windows open nice and wide for fresh air and the place generally has a bright and tidy feeling.

Both the living room and bedrooms were comfortable for all. Very handy having a washing machine in the kitchen! The bathroom is lovely as well. Lots of space here with two bedrooms and a big living/dining room. Very spacious for three to four people.

The building is accessed via the buzzer panel, which is very handy. Good utilities here, too - lots of channels on the TV and very fast wireless internet. We were truly left wanting for nothing here in the way of digital amusement.

We appreciated the phone call from our hosts on the evening of our arrival to ensure everything was as expected. It absolutely was, and then some. Many thanks!

  • This was a great flat for what I was looking for. In town for a business trip, I needed a simple, clean and centrally-located flat with excellent internet speeds. Marie-Louise's flat ticked all of the boxes. As an added bonus, she was even able to arrange for airport pick-up and key drop off which made the entire stay seamless. Marie-Louise was very responsive and checked in on me before during and after the stay. If you're looking for a great spot to land for a business trip to Dublin (especially if you're working for (website hidden)), I'd recommend this flat every time!

I am an artist living and working between Dublin and Italy. I make original print (if this needs explaining, visit my website, a quick search on my name will get it for you). The cottage in Ballsbridge was my studio for years; I just recently turned it back to use as a home. The Apartment in Barrow Street is a purpose built, modern design and tidy sapce in the centre of Dublin's information technology hub in a safe and friendly apartment block. The other property, in Kinsale is a fabulous Georgian period three storey townhouse that is our escape from the capital. Feel free to contact us at any time, we try very hard to respond to requests quickly. Marie-Louise Martin
