Ingrid and her family were very welcoming. Great care was taken in explaining where everything was, both within the flat and locally. We found a lovely bakery nearby and plenty of restaurants, a launderette and shops etc. The flat was very clean and perfect for what we needed - it felt very private and it was only a short walk to the tram and the main station (although we decided to walk into Ghent as it really wasn't far). Thank you so much for a lovely stay - we had a really nice time and it was a shame we weren't able to say goodbye. We went to the recreation park that you suggested and had a lovely walk - thank you for the great suggestion:)
Lovely home, just as described if not better. Location was very close to main train and bus station, and family was lovely. Everything about the apartment was up to date and new, and there were nice little extras as well. I enjoyed my short stay and would gladly stay again! :)
We had a very nice stay here. Everything we needed was provided in the apartment (very nice linnen, towels, toilet paper,...) the kitchen also had everything you need to prepare a meal (there is no oven though, there is a microwave and this was sufficient for us)
Lots of closet space in the bedroom.
Having the airco was really nice because there was a heatwave during our stay.
Overal we were very pleased and would like to come back here!
We spent almost one week in this beautiful apartment. Ingrid and her family were great, open-minded and helpful hosts who made us feel very welcome. Although we arrived before the official check-in time Ingrid offered us to drop off our luggage at their house so that we could do some sightseeing in the city while the apartment was being prepared for us. During our stay we got helpful recommendations on restaurants, bars and sightseeing activities among them a really great Thai restaurant close to the apartment.
Ingrid's house is situated in a quiet neighbourhood, only a couple of minutes away from the central station from where you can take the tram to the city centre. The apartment itself is situated in the attic of a three-story house, so that you have to do a bit of walking before you are rewarded with a lovely furnished, very comfortable, clean and cosy apartment that offers a nice view upon Gent's rooftops.
We really enjoyed our stay!
We were welcomed into Ingrid's house by her husband, who was very helpful - giving us useful tips on everything we could need. The apartment was functional and nice - most of all it was extremely clean, hygienic - and smelt good. Perhaps one of the few places where you get freshly ironed bed linen! The location of the house was also good - with a tram to central station just around the corner.
I thought I should highlight that the apartment is located on the third floor and the house does not have a elevator. While we were kindly helped with all our luggage, the house may not be suitable for some travellers due to this reason.
Overall, for us it was a very satisfactory experience.
