About This Listing
The suite include:
- Full equiped kitchen
- Air condition
- Double beds with bedside tables and wardrobe
- Accommodates 2 but we can supply a folded bed for a third person (normally child) without extra cost
A very nice veranda with chairs where you can enjoy the sun after your swimming in the beach. The local beach is just around the corner. The neighbourhood is so quite. There are many tavernas and mini markets in a walk able distance. You can travel to places around Chora Sfakion either by car (we can help you on that) or by boat which goes to Gavdos, Paleochora, Loutro and Aghia Roumeli.
If you're looking to rent a car we can provide you information of a local car hire company, cars are delivered to the airport for your convinience. On the other hand there is a bus service from Chania main city to Chora Sfakion. If you're arriving at either Chania airport (CHQ) or Heraklion (HER) you will need to get a bus to Chania main city and then get another bus to Sfakia.
Also taxi transfers can be arranged from both Chania and Heraklion.
We didn't have a good experience with this host!
Although this listing is near Samaria Gorge, and a couple of reviews say it's possible to visit from here, we found out from the host after we had booked that it's not possible to complete the gorge from this location. We had chosen to stay here to visit the gorge (and we told the host this when we booked) but because the listing has a strict cancellation policy it meant even when we asked the host to cancel we couldn't get a full or even part refund. I found this disappointing.
The host ignored a few emails when we were trying to work this out and we ended up having to pay in full but not stay.
If you aren't interested in the gorge I'm sure you will have no problems staying here, but the lack of flexibility from the host made this airbnb experience poor and costly for us.
dear Gareth, after all these e-mail that I send you, are you telling that I ignore you???I made you exactly the plan if you want to visit Samaria gorge. you can not say that Chora Sfakion it is not a good spot for someone to visit the gorge.
if someone how want to make plan for his holidays check the place that want to visit he will know what to do and where to stay.you have made the booking since March.I don't want my appartment to stay empty because of your wrong (email hidden)d I helped you a lot telling you what to do and how to make it with the gorge.
Had a great wee stay in Suite 2. Due to Hora Sfakion and the surrounding area being so lovely we weren't really spending a lot of time in the room but it's a nice place to crash. Sitting out on the shared terrace looking over the beach was lovely. Also all the restaurants and bakeries we went to in Hora Sfakion were really delicious, beautiful fresh food. I would recommend this as a great wee chilled out place to stay.
The apartment is part of a small block of other apartments, sharing an outdoor terrace space and facing the lovely little public beach in Sfakia. This didn't bother us at all (particularly because nobody was staying in the other apartments at the time!), but you might want to be aware of it all the same. The apartment itself is simple and clean and the location just can't be faulted. Georgia didn't tell us where to pick the keys up but we worked out from previous reviews that you get them from the Livikon Hotel on the bay, just 3 minutes' walk away. All in all this was a lovely place to stay.
The room is wonderful situatet. Not typical for airbnb - next to the flat are 3 others which belong to the same hotel.
We have never met Giorgia but Ali, who looks after the rooms, was kind and helpfull. All in all the relation of price to benefit for the room was not satisfying.
If we had a chance to do our trip over again knowing what we know now, we would have stayed here the whole time. First of all Chora Sfakia is a gorgeous friendly little resort town. Absolute Paradise. We were directed by Giorgia to the Taverna that maintained the apartments. They were clean and well stocked. We had a big window that faced the beach so we fell asleep and woke to the ocean every day. We had breakfast on the terrace every morning. Fresh bread from the town bakery, with local thyme honey, fresh eggs, local yogurt, and olive oil. It was heaven. When we felt like a swim the beach was a 30 second walk away. You're also only a ferry ride away from the Samaria Gorge if you feel the need for a beautiful hike.
If you are going to Crete, go to Chora Sfakia, if you're staying in Chora Sfakia, stay here.
Georgia's apartment was clean, lovely with an incredible view !
We stayed for 1 night and were perfectly satisfied.
We got the keys at Livikon restaurant after parking our car next to the bakery were Georgia works (very good point because the place is really crowded) and a waiter showed us our room with shared terrace.
The beach, very clean and pleasant, was at 20m from the room, a real luxury !!
The only thing that could have been a problem had we stayed longer, was the bathroom. It was wet and had no real opening to let the air come through. But since we were here for a short time, it did not cause any worry.
We recommend the place !
