Interaction with Guests
In general, I am not around during your stay but you can call, text or message me for questions.
This apartment is centralized between six popular neighborhoods: Mission, Castro, SOMA, Duboce triangle, Hayes Valley and Lower Haight and it is in one of most wanted areas in SF. Young people are crazy about this neighborhood because it is full of life and energy and never boring: just step out of door, within a few blocks in all directions, you will find countless restaurants, bars, cafe, gallery and indie theater, Whole Foods, Valencia corridor, Dolores park. As every prior guest commented, this is fantastic location, for both leisure and business travelers.
This neighborhood also has good access to freeway 101 and 280 for you to go to Silicon Valley. All big high tech companies have shuttle stops nearby, like G bus, Apple, Y bus, Lab126, Genentech, Box etc.
This neighborhood has best weather in SF as well. Especially in summer, more than half of SF is often covered with thick fog, this neighborhood is still sunny. On beautiful weather day, do some people watching and enjoy fabulous SF.
This apartment is in epicenter of convenience and public transportation, especially good for first time visitor to explore what SF offers. Numerous bus lines/Tourism trolley/Metro lines/BART all convene here, which can take you to every corner of SF. One block and a half to Market street, which is the busiest thoroughfare in SF. Many previous guests ditched slow buses when they were staying here, having been enjoying convenience of walking to everywhere:
walk to Castro/Hays valley/Lower haights 10mins
walk to Civic center/Opera house/Symphony hall 15 mins
walk to downtown/Moscone center 25min
walk to SOMA 15min
walk to MUNI station(Metro, trolley, Bus): 1-2min
walk to bart station(16st/Mission station): 5min
MUNI/BART to downtown/finanical district : 5min
Public transportation to my place:
A. If you take BART (bay area transportation):
25 mins trip from SFO airport ($8.60 fare) or 26 mins trip from Coliseum/Oakland airport ($4.15 fare) then get off at 16th/mission station. then easy walk 4 blocks.
Taxi might cost $45 from SFO to city center.
B. If you take MUNI (SF public transportation system):
Metro M/J/T/K/L/N lines: Get off at church station then walk 2 blocks.
Trolley F line: Get off at market and guerrero st, then walk 1.5 blocks.
There are 6 or 7 bus lines nearby too.
C. If you take Caltrain:
Connect to BART at Millbrae station and MUNI at king street/AT&T park station.
D. I might be able to provide garage parking for $20 per day. Please ask.
Other Things to Note
1. There is no pet in the household. The apartment is on second floor, there is elevator if you have heavy luggage.
2. Street parking is in general not easy because this is very popular area. However, if you are lucky, you can find free street parking right in front of the building or nearby. If you don't mind paying, there are lots of meters and parking lots nearby. If you want to rent a car, Zipcar is just next door. Many car rental companies, like enterprise, alamo, Hertz, budget, etc, are within walking distance.
1. No smoking in the condo, building or backyard. Smokers shall exit building and smoke on the street.
2. This is one of most fun places in SF. But please no late night party. Be quiet to neighbors.
3. Sorry, no pets.
Fantastic location for walking to all the great food and fun in the Mission. The public parking lot a couple of blocks away also a big help since parking in the Mission is very hard to find on the street. Love the open space feeling, nice kitchen and wooden floors.
Great location and great apartment. Right next to a ton of hot spots! Host very easy to work with, would stay here again for sure!
My family of 5 (my mother, my husband, my 4 year old, and my infant) all stayed at Hao's apartment in early October. It was fantastic. I'll get the minor inconveniences out of the way first: we had to pick up the keys from his aunt in an entirely different neighborhood (thankfully, we used to live here, so the driving was painful only because of traffic, not because we didn't know how to go). Also, our AT&T cell phones had almost no reception in the apartment.
The location is spectacular: we walked to our favorite grocery store in the world (Rainbow) so we could cook in the kitchen (which was not spectacularly but adequately stocked with cooking equipment), a fantastic bakery (Tartine), a fantastic playground (Dolores Park), more restaurants than you could shake a stick at, and abundant mass transit lines.
The apartment was clean, tidy, attractive, had great natural light, and allowed us to sleep comfortably (baby in the closet, 4 year old on the futon at the foot of our bed) and entertain our friends when they came to visit us. I feared the neighbors might get annoyed by the sound of occasionally rambunctious children, but no one ever approached us. The humongous TV with every video-streaming service known to man was of particular use with the kids. Wifi was easy access. Elevator has handy with luggage and stroller. And it even had a back patio which we all loved. Some basic foods (ground coffee, cold cereal, OJ, milk) were already stocked, which made the first day easier. As for the price, not only was it cheaper than the 2 hotel rooms we otherwise would have had to rent, all the conveniences of home made the hotel-vs-apt. question no-brainer!
The apartment was everything as described, was very clean and comfortable. Location was fabulous. Hao was very helpful with questions. Would love to come back, maybe next year same time. Thanks Hao.
I didn't get a chance to meet Hao in person, but we thoroughly enjoyed his apartment in San Francisco. The location was perfect to explore the Mission area, which turned out to be one of our favorite parts of the city! The apartment was clean, spacious, secure and well looked after, and Hao was easy to communicate with. I have no hesitations recommending Hao and his apartment to anyone looking for the perfect place to stay in SF.
Great apartment. Everything was as described. Great location. We had a wonderful stay at Hao's apartment.Thank you Hao.
My sons and I spent 4 nights at Hao's apartment and we were very comfortable indeed. The apartment is well-furnished and contains all the equipment and accessories that anyone might need. The location is excellent - making it very easy to access public transport. The proximity to Market Street is particularly convenient as we could take the tram (the tram stop only being a few minutes walk from the apartment), and we could go all the way to Pier 39 for $2 each! If we are ever lucky enough to visit SF again we'll look out for this apartment again.
