This newly renovated 3 bedroom apartment in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn (the neighborhood that brought you Jay-Z, Lil' Kim, The Notorious B.I.G., Big Daddy Kane, Mos Def, and was home to the first Black American Major League Baseball player, the legendary Jackie Robinson), offers spacious, modern living in a historically rich and diverse but tranquil neighborhood packed with beautiful brownstones on tree lined streets. 15 mins to financial district/Statue of Liberty Ferry, 40 mins to mid-town/Times Sq. Travelers can get here from JFK via the A Train Utica stop ($7) or the B15 Bus ($2.50) which stops at our corner. (The bus may take longer)
Reviews: Please don't be confused by the reviews here on Air BnB. There are reviews about our current apartment and our PREVIOUS apartment. That previous apartment is no longer available but it should give you an idea of the level of service we offer and our longstanding relationship with Air BnB. We take pride in providing the best lodging for our guests.
Note: We have just finished renovating this garden apartment. The garden itself has not been landscaped yet but there is an outdoor deck up stairs you should feel welcome to use for hanging out and BBQing. We are in the process of accessorizing the apartment so it's a bit Spartan at the moment but still cozy and immaculate. If you are in need of any amenities that we have overlooked, please just let us know. We live right upstairs and will do our best to accommodate any and all reasonable requests in a reasonable amount of time.
Note 2: We keep a high security deposit for large groups. If you're a small group staying for only 1 week...just ask about it.
Note 3) As always when traveling on Holiday, be aware of your surroundings. Search on the internet about the neighborhood you're considering! Brooklyn is a wonderful place full of some amazingly nice people. But it is not Disneyland. We will advise you upon arrival about any safety concerns or areas you should avoid in Brooklyn. (Other boroughs...we can't help too much there.) But this is New York city...try not to look like a tourist...ask us questions and use basic common sense that you would use at home or in any other urban area.

Our stay at the Putnam was fantastic. We loved staying in Brooklyn, it was close to everything. Times Square was only a 10 min walk to the subway then a 20 train ride. The Putnam was very well presented and had everything we needed for our stay! Thank you so much and we look forward to staying again some day. Will recommend to family and friends!
We stayed in Putnam apartment for 1,5 months and we really loved our experience. We already rented few places through airbnb, so we were really careful about chosing apartment in New York. And I can say that I have only positive feedback.
Due to our long flight from Europe we had delay and arrived much later. However Saeko was outside waiting for us and gave us all instructions about apartment. We felt very welcomed and during whole our stay the communication was great. If we had any small problem to be fixed...this was done within few hours. We also loved feeling as it was our home because Teedo and Saeko were giving us lot of privacy and always warning if they needed to enter to pick something up (as if we were owners). Other thing that touched me was that they did not ask extra money from us when we had some issues (extra for heating, extra for linen cleaning).Teedo also gave us service for taking out our garbage bin on Sundays.
The apartment itself was wonderful with lot of essentials and all you need for long stay. On arrival there were some snack and other food stocked. In bathroom we found shampoo and soaps which in the beginning I were not sure if I can touch...but shampoo and conditioner were so good for hair that I finally did use it all the time!
The apartment were safe and calm. Especially rooms of the backyard where slept our toddler son. Apartment is very well kept and maintained. Only heating should be fixed in backyard rooms because in very cold temperatures is gets really cold. But we know that it is planned and as told before we had two heaters which we used a lot and were not charged extra.
There are no TV in apartment and being TV person I worried about this...but after 1,5 months without TV realized that I saved lot of time and only watched things on my computer which I really wanted. So now moving to other apartment where we have TV I never turn it on ( so thank you guys for giving me this experience! )
We heard from many people that the area was not safe 10 years ago, but after few days we realized that it's really safe and people on the street are very friendly.
There is very good Day Care center close by, also good grocery on Gates avenue. Subway about 12-15 minutes walk away that takes right to Manhattan. Downtown of Brooklyn just 8-10 minutes away by subway.
Ah, and we had washing machine in basement...which as I understood later is a bless in New York!
We had really wonderful stay in Saeko and Teedo's apartment and would recommend it for sure!
We were 4 girls staying for 5 months in this great apartment. Teedo and Saeko are wonderful and perfect hosts. It was always possible to get in touch with Teedo and Saeko right away and they were very helpful with all kind of advises.
Teedo and Saeko made us feel home, though we were so far away for a long time.
The apartment is exactly as on the pictures and seems very big and the condition is very good. Teedo and Saeko also have a wonderful terrace were we were having some BBQ a couple a times, it is a great possibly to be abel to sit outside.
I will defiantly stay at Teedo's and Saeko's place next time i return to NYC!
Thanks a lot both of you - you are the best :)
Excellent apartment! Very clean, spacious and superbly located. Less than 10 minutes to the express train on the A line and only a few blocks from some amazing dining. Teedo and Saeko were excellent hosts and provided us with plenty of tips and info about the area. Would definitely stay here again on any future trips to New York.
Very clean. Felt safe and secure. Very welcoming and easy to contact. Access was good, glad not to have worry about keys. Good value. Useful recommendations. Great having washing machine and dryer. Bedrooms have good natural light but living area is in the middle of the apartment so only daylight from having bedroom doors open. We would visit again. Thanks so much Teedo and Seiko!
We enjoyed our stay very much - the apartment is well located in relation to the station and other amenities such as great restaurants and supermarket. Saeko and Teedo were really friendly and helpful. The apartment is roomy, modern and clean - a perfect home base for exploring NYC.
Teedo & Saeko are awesome hosts!

About the Host, Saeko/Teedo
We shared our previous penthouse apartment with many travelers from all over the world, from Grand Parents to Teenagers, from Saudi Arabia to California, USA...then we sold it. Now we are introducing a new fabulous 3 bedroom, The Putnam, in a wonderful, up and coming neighborhood in Brooklyn, with the same level of service and attention to detail as our previous apartment.
We're busy new yorkers so we might be able to see you only a few minutes a day but if you need any information about NYC, we will be able to assist you in having many enjoyable experiences in NYC. Either one of us speaks French and Japanese, you might be able to guess which one speaks Japanese...
