Casa Laura is an independent apartment in a restored farmhouse Agriturismo la Magione that is situated on an agricultural estate on a hilltop at about 300 meters above sea level. It offers a wonderful panorama of the surrounding countryside with fields, olive groves, vineyards and woodlands. The gardens and the swimming pool are set inside the olive grove next to the farmhouse. The house is divided into three apartments, one of which is rented year round and the other occupied by the owner and his wife and sons.
Private entrance to the apartment is into the open plan living/dining room with one wall occupied by the modern kitchen which is fully equipped with gas range, electric oven, fridge with freezer, washing machine, American Coffee machine and tea kettle. To one side of the kitchen is the living/dining room with comfortable seating and sofa.
Through the kitchen is a short hallway with three doors. At the end of the hall is the door to the double bedroom with antique wardrobe and matching wrought iron double bed. To the left in the hall is the door to the twin bedded room, and across the hall is the door to the complete bathroom with shower stall.
As the apartment develops entirely on the ground floor, it is suitable for people in wheelchairs. There is Satellite TV, DVD player and WI-FI in the living area. A Mountain bike is available for guest use, and there is a baby cot. The owner speaks English and is willing to assist guests with visits to the most famous wineries of the Chianti Classico Region and he can also provide directions and maps for hiking and trekking in the area.
Our apartment has its own totally independent access and it has a private and furnished garden area with large umbrellas and other amenities. There is an equipped playground for children near the pool, and in order to ensure their safety, the pool and playground are accessed from a small gate and are fenced in. The 11 x 13 meter pool is shared with the owner.
It will be my pleasure to let you taste our extra virgin olive oil and you take a tour of our property.
I will also be at your disposal for any museum or reservations for the shuttle to outlet or visit cities of art
The typical Tuscan town of Quercegrossa is only 2 kms away with all facilities, shops and restaurants. The position is ideal for those who want to visit the historical locations and cities of Tuscany, with Florence at 56 kms, Siena at 6 kms, and Lucca and Pisa at 140 kms. San Gimignano and Monteriggioni are close by and Volterra is a 30 minute drive from Quercegrossa. The hamlet of Badesse is also at 4 kms and it too offers, bar, restaurant, and pizza place.
The estate produces an excellent extra virgin olive oil that can be purchased there and the owners have recently started cultivating saffron and have planted a series of trees micotized with truffles. These productions will start in the next couple of years.

Riccardo's farm apartment was wonderful. The peace and quiet was just what we needed after a few hectic weeks travelling through european cities.
The apartment was spacious, clean and well appointed. Riccardo met us after we had settled in and he gave us some of his delicious olive oil produced on the farm. He made sure we had all we needed and also bade us farewell when we left.
We used the apartment as a base to travel around the Tuscan countryside to see the fantastic little villages, olive and wine groves and of course Siena, only 10 minutes down the road.
Also, just across the laneway from the apartment is a small restaurant where we had a great lunch one day.
We would highly recommend the apartment and Riccardo's hospitality.
Good luck with the truffles and thanks Riccardo.
What a fantastic place to stay. We truly would have liked to stay longer than one night. The hosts, was very helpful. The place was clean. The location is absolutely amazing. We can recommend this place to anybody. Thank you for making our trip a pleasure.
Riccardo was a great host. I, due to my own mistakes, got lost on the way to the farmhouse and Riccardo promptly found me and escorted me to the property. Upon arrival he greeted us with a bottle of fresh pressed olive oil from his farm, which was absolutely divine. I would just recommend you stay at his farmhouse just for the olive oil. Another interesting perk was the quality of his wifi. It was the fastest that I experienced in Italy which puzzled me due to the remoteness of his location. He also had a fully stocked kitchen which made cooking a joy.
Ricardo was really helpful and the place was nice!!
Riccardo was very flexible and quick in responding. His apartment is very beautifully located and we also enjoyed the restaurant a lot. Highly recommended for the price!
We unfortunately only had the opportunity to stay a single night at Riccardo's cottage, if we had our time in Italy again we would definitely make sure our stay would be longer to allow us to explore the Sienna region.
The cottage is set in a beautiful area in the rolling hills surrounded by great views. Riccardo was great and very attentive to ensure our short stay was enjoyable as possibly.
It was great to be able to stay out in the country side away for the noise and bustle of the bigger cities.
We loved our stay at the farmhouse. Ricardo made us very welcome and we had several good chats while in we were there. The countryside was nice and refreshing after the busy cities. The pool to sunbathe and swim a bonus.
A plus as well was the great little restaurant that was just outside our door. This was unexpected and quite a delight.
We found the location great for day trips and were pleasantly surprised that the wine tour would pick us up at the farm. My husband and our friend even ventured out on the bikes to the nearby village for coffee and pastries in the mornings. We cannot forget Ricardo's Olive Oil. We left with 4 bottles and will definitely send for more. All in all a great place to stay and would recommend to anyone especially those who would like to experience Italy and have some quiet time
La Magione is a very nice place to stay. We would recommend it to anybody. The host welcomed us earlier than planned.
