The Harlequin House

This sunny, two bedroom house is color and windows. People watch from the front porch or enjoy quiet on the rear deck. Oak lined Esplanade Ave with cafes and restaurants is two blocks away; borrow my bike for a quick jaunt to the French Quarter.

  • It was actually my dad staying with Jordan; he came back extremely pleased by his stay in New Orleans. Jordan was very available and friendly - spoke french, which was a huge help - and my dad had the best time in a city he didn't know. I'm so glad he was able to have such a good experience! Thank you :)

  • Jordan was a great host, before the trip her response times were really fast and she answered all the questions I had. During my stay she gave great advise and pointed out a festival and a street parade that I would not have found myself (just something to do that is not the usual tourist stuff). Unfortunately I had a bike accident when I was over and Jordan had to take me to the ER- she was at the place where the accident happened in no time and gave me a ride to the ER and also waited for me to get out. Not that you should get in such a situation :-), but I think it shows really well what a great and reliable host she is!

  • Jordan was a great host regardless of the fact that she was incredibly busy with work and her final exams at school. She took the time to make suggestions as to where to go to eat, shop and check out local entertainment. The use of her bike was fantatic, and returning to her beautiful home after a long hot day at Jazzfest, was like returning to my own private oasis. Would highly recommend Jordan's place for one seeking comfort, and peace in a great and interesting neighborhood. It was close to all that one might be interested in seeing as a traveler in NOLA but far enough away to enjoy some much needed quiet at the end of the day. Looking forward to returning some day.

  • A very very very fine house:) with two cats and a dog…everything was easy…Jordan offered information and inspiration and the magical bike which flew me through areas that might have been a bit sketchy. Would definitely join her again on another trip to NOLA.

  • The house was great, and Jordan was an amazing host, providing me with cups of tea and even cookies. The cat was adorable.
I didn't experience any problems with the neighbourhood, even though a couple of my cabdrivers warned me that is was a little sketchy. Next time I might prefer living closer to the french quarter, but that's just personal taste. The french quarter was within walking distance, but not comfortable walking distance.
I had some issues with the internet, but that's just about it. The house is great, and the bed is amazing. It's been months since I slept so well.
The house and the host: 5 stars. The location: 4 stars.

  • Jordan was a good host. The location was convenient and also a nice break from the crowds downtown. The bed was comfortable and I enjoyed the back room for reading. I will recommend her place to my friends!

  • Beautiful place, wonderful host.

Note also that there is more in the house than meets the eye -- lovely back porches, one glassed in and one beyond that in open air. Really pretty.

  • Awesome experience. Jordan was a gracious host and accommodated my room request on very short notice. She made her cruiser bike available to see the french qtr. Her home is located just off esplanade in a good neighborhood. Staying with her felt just like home

  • Though I only stayed with Jordan for a short period of time (not even 24 hours), I can unequivocally say that she is beyond awesome as a host. From the moment my flight landed and I called to inform her of my arrival this was apparent. She even provided transportation from the airport, which saved me a ton of money on cab fare. We had great conversation and even were only separated by a couple degrees of mutual acquaintances. When I was ready to go out later that evening she even took me to Frenchmen St, though it was out of her way. She has a beautiful home in a charming neighborhood, which I had the pleasure of exploring a bit. If you're looking for a nice place to stay and a great host then Jordan definitely has my endorsement.

  • What I found most interesting in Jordan's place was internal decoration. There were many artistic stuffs from all over the world, one from my country which is so impressive and made me feel at home. More than that, she was very kind and knowledgeable, recommending me many good spots. It was also a comfy stay. The location was not a problem for me and i would recommend her place to anyone who wants to visit NOLA!

About
I'm an avid traveler from Seattle who has settled down in New Orleans. Proud to call it home, but I occasionally miss my gitana days...I make up for it by hosting. It's been amazing getting to know people from all over the globe!
