  • This apartment is a great deal. The location is excellent--there's a grocery store, a great restaurant and a great pub around the corner and it's a ten minute walk to the city center. There's two bedrooms with doors that close and one of my kids slept on the futon in the main area which was fine. We used the kitchen with no problems. Ruth also helped us out by picking up adapters and was always available by text. Great place!

  • We loved the house! It is perfectly located so you can explore Galway by walking everywhere. There are Shops and everything else close by. The house is not missing anything. Parking space for car was very appreciated. Communication in preparation of and during the stay was always easy, accurate and quick. Would recommend this place without any hesitation.

  • We stayed at Ruth's apartment on 31 May and 1 June 2014. There have been lots of good reviews but I can only comment on our experience. Communication with Ruth had been excellent and we knew she would be away when we stayed. We had alternate arrangements for the welcome to the apartment but they were a bit hit and miss, with the quirks of the apartment not explained - such as how to lock the door (have to lift the handle up and then lock!) how to get hot water to the sink (a switch upstairs) and several other things. There was no explanatory information in the apartment. The main problem, which may have been unusual, was noise. I'm a heavy sleeper but was woken both nights at 3 am by party noise which didn't abate until after 5am. As a result, we left a night early.
Otherwise, the apartment was clean and as described, the wifi was excellent. It was great to have both a washer and dryer. The off-street parking was tight but we squeezed an Opel Insignia into the space. Apart from the noise, the location was excellent, easy to find, with a supermarket close by and an easy walk to the centre of Galway. The 2nd bedroom is very small and the only bathroom up a tight spiral staircase. As a result, the apartment would best suit a mobile single, couple or couple with a child.

  • The house is in a fantastic location, minutes away from the city centre (we could easily pop back between sights or before dinner). We were welcomed to a clean flat and a helpful host - I know where I'm staying the next time I'm in Galway!

  • Ruth was highly accommodating for my mother and I who were traveling in from Dublin with a booking at very short notice and flexible check-in. Ruth was away at the time, however made arrangements for Geraldine to meet us at the property. Geraldine provided an introduction to the apartment and recommended a number of great restaurants in the area. We found the apartment pleasant, with lots of natural light, and comfortable though fairly minimalist with respect to furnishings. As noted by Ruth the second bedroom is a single and therefore fairly compact. The single bedroom is also street facing (traffic noise was only noticeable on the Friday evening), and as other reviews have noted the spiral staircase is fairly steep and the gap to the ceiling is quite low at some points. Location is very good with only a short walk away from the sea and Galway town centre. A SuperValu supermarket is conveniently located less than 100m away. We had an early checkout planned and Geraldine was very helpful and flexible with facilitating these arrangements.

  • This apartment is very well situated, between seaside and town center. It's at the gateway to the Connemara. Ruth is welcoming. If you need anything, she is providing. We were a family (2 adults and 2 children). We appreciated this home and we recommend it. Wifi was practice.

  • My family came over from America to visit me in Ireland and the first place I wanted to visited was Galway. Ruth's apartment was a cosy, and very accessible place to stay, just about a two minute walk from the 'old town' and the Latin Quarter and the lovely park and sea.
Ruth, the host, was very helpful. She showed us around the apartment and told us how to work the appliances around the place and just had a beautiful apartment in general.
Thank you for letting us stay, very enjoyable.

  • Ruth's apartment was perfect: clean, airy, and well-situated. She met us on arrival, and was helpful and informative. Galway was wonderful.
