Located in the heart of the Marrakech Medina, this charming Riad features just four en-suite bedrooms, giving you ample space to relax in tranquil and private surroundings.
This listing is for the "Yasmine" double en-suite bedroom on the ground floor.
Riad Dar Ivissa is ideally located on the perimeter of Marrakech's famous Souks. Although Jamaâ El-Fna Square is just a 5 min walk away, you will feel a world away from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding city centre.
The Riad is newly refurbished to a high standard with a tasteful traditional Moroccan décor. There are ample lounging areas on all floors of this Riad. A beautiful panoramic wrap-around terrace features plenty of space for relaxing and catching the sun.
Amenities include WiFi access (from the ground floor courtyard and first floor mezzanine lounge area), small plunge pool, salon with satellite TV.
Each air-conditioned room at Riad Dar Ivissa has a private en-suite bathroom.
A Moroccan and continental breakfast is served daily.
Excursions, transfers, guided tours and hammam treatments can be arranged by the English speaking staff. The Koutoubia Mosque and the Majorelle Gardens are a 10-minute drive away. Marrakech Airport is a 30-minute transfer from Riad Dar Ivissa.
Meriam is a very helpful person and we felt very welcomed in Dar Ivissa.
Clean, friendly, quiet, convenient and reasonably priced. This riad is tucked away, making it initially hard to find. However, I had a superb three night stay there in late November.
The staff are polite and friendly, speaking to me in good French and English. Yussef was especially helpful, booking an extra night for me while I went to the Sahara for two nights (a tour they also helped me organise, costing just €80 for transport, accommodation, and breakfasts+dinners), and Mariam helped me figure out the maximum I should pay for a Djelleba in the souks.
My room was in the ground floor opening onto the reception area, but luckily there weren't many other people staying while I was there. The rest if the rooms are on upper floors.
There was plenty of scorchingly hot water for showers throughout the day - though the 'hot' and 'cold' labels had been switched around on my taps!
All in all, faultless. 10 minutes walk from Djemma el Fna.
*Help finding the riad:*
It is located to the right of a guard hut at the bottom of a gently sloped alley accessed through a dark archway. The archway it's self is pretty unassuming, situated as it is behind the bollards and parked cars in the corner of an area of the road that opens out a little. There isn't even any sign hung on or near the black wooden door, but I assure you, knock and someone will come to the door to welcome you in. There is another Riad called something naff like "Riad Luxury" to the left of the guard hut.
Nice quiet riad in the medina. Good room, friendly host, whose employee, to our surprise, spoke not only Arabic and French, but also some English, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese! Recommended.
