This place was pretty easy to find. Our room was very clean, comfortable, open, and brightly lit. Bathrooms were great. Breakfast was nice and the place has an interesting story! Debendra was very friendly as well.
We had a WONDERFUL stay at Debendra's place - Cocina Mitho Chha!
It's not only a warm and cozy stay away from the crazy and nosy Kathmandu (still very Central, only 10 minutes by walk to Thamel tourist centre), but also a FRIENDLY environment with lots of love for everything they do!
Cocina Mitho Chha is also a social project that train young people from orphanages to become autonomous chefs!
I WILL DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TO STAY THERE!
Thank you Debendra, for everything!
We had an amazing time with Debendra and all his crew in Cocina Mitho Chha. They were always very helpful. The place was really nice and the food is excellent.
Debendra even went to the hospital to visit us when we got ill!
We felt at home. Really recomend this place, we had a wonderful time and plus you are cooperating for a wonderful cause!
I had an excellent stay in the Everest room. It was large and very clean, the perfect retreat from the bustle of Nepal. The staff we're friendly and the food was delicious. Debendra is a fantastic host he literally made my perfect holiday. I arrived in Kathmandu only having booked one night at the Cocina hotel. The following morning Debendra had planned and organised a weeks activities including hiring a driver to patiently take me to all the sites of Kathmandu valley (including Durbar Square, Patan, the Monkey Temple and many more) and set me up with a great English speaking guide for a brilliant 4 day trek. I stayed 4 nights at this hotel and it became my home from home. This hotel and Debendra's warm helpful service is priceless, I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to my next stay.
Debendra was really helpful and responsive when I was arranging the booking. When I arrived he and his staff were very welcoming. I had come to Kathmandu to join a sponsored bike ride and wanted to do some sightseeing and visit Pokhara beforehand. He helped me organise this trip, then had my bike safely delivered to Thamel where I joined the group. Debendra is running a project to train young people who have grown up in orphanages in restaurant skills and prepare them for working life and I was happy to support him in a small way.
We were so happy to have found this haven in Kathmandu. Our room was spacious, light, comfortable and very clean. Delicious breakfasts were cooked in their social enterprise restaurant which trains and supports disadvantaged youth. Excellent location in Lazimpat, a short walking distance to Thamel but far enough from the chaos. Great restaurants nearby, but also a lovely menu offered by their restaurant. Debendra is very knowledgeable about sights and treks. We stayed a week and could have stayed longer. Thanks so much Debendra and Mitho Chha team for making us feel so at home. We hope you'll have a room for us next time we stop by Kathmandu!
Since my flight was landing in Kathmandu late evening and it was my first time in Nepal, I asked my host, Debendra to organise an airport pick up. He responded to my emails quickly and was very kind to arrange the transport at an extra cost and also personally meet me at the airport. The room was clean and had a small balcony which was perfect during daytime to read a book and enjoy the sun. Other than the guesthouse, there is also a cooking school for orphans on the premises. Breakfast was complimentary and served there in the morning and included coffee/tea, eggs, bread, butter and jam. All in all, I stayed at the guesthouse for a total of 4 nights and I had a pleasant stay.
Our stay started with the best Marsala chaa in Kathmandu as we were greeted by our very friendly host Debendra. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant which is part of the hospitality training school offering orphans the opportunity to gain skills and hopefully a future. Our room was stylishly decorated- simple with attention to detail. The Crema Caramalata was exceptional! Nice garden, quiet and walking distance to Thamel. Highly recommended!
