Martin and Jo make you feel more than welcome in their house and your stay in Penrith. The beautiful wooden house and it’s coziness really reflects their personalities and it feels close to home. And if you even wanted to try Vegemite and Marmite on the same piece of homemade toast or just with some homemade jam, your wish comes true. It’s a great place to start your journeys into the Lake District and I’m very happy have stayed there.

A home away from home in the heart of Penrith - a stone's throw away from the station and all of town's amenities. The hosts were great, and added to our relaxing stay at theirs. Thank you Martin & Jo!

It's a warm and spacious house to stay in. Comfortable. The shared bathroom wasn't any problem as we were early to rise and 6 other guests much later. Martin gave good advice about local places to eat and we could have made our own meals in the large kitchen had we wanted.

Martin and Jo are really good hosts. They gave us some good advice on places to visit, and provided good conversation. The house is beautiful and very clean and our room was comfortable. On the whole a very positive experience.

We were on our second day of C2C and stopped at Martin and Jo's place in Penrith. The house is in a walkable distance of many shops and restaurants. The room was lovely with lots of quirky details and Jo was very welcome, friendly and gave us some good advice for our cycle route. We would definitely stop here again for a couple more days next time.

What a lovely house and warm welcome from Jo & Martin. We were travelling through so arrived late and left early but couldn't have anything more from them. We'd book again if we were travelling to or from Scotland. Thank you.

Martin & Jo User ProfileMartin & Jo is a superhost.

We're based in the Lake District but have lived in many places around the UK and elsewhere in the world. Jo is a maxillofacial surgeon who, like Martin, loves to travel. Martin has two grown up children and is a Paediatric Physiotherapist, engineer and computer consultant...

We both enjoy skiing, sailing, kitesurfing, paragliding, diving, mountain-biking, hiking and being outdoors.

We enjoy Airbnbing because, when we can't travel ourselves "travelling comes to us" in the form of interesting guests...
