The Space

This new built semi detached unit is built on five acres above the Gibbston Valey up in the mountains. It has 2 spacious bedrooms, both with ensuites. It also has a modern, fully equipped kitchen/dining/lounge room. This room has a tv, dvd ipod dock. Throughout it is fully underfloor heated and the lounge has a wood burning schist stone fire. You can access your private garden/bbq area from here. And the mountain views are just wonderful!

One of the bedrooms has a queen bed and access directly out to the garden, The second bedroom can either be made up as 2 single beds or put together to make a spacious king bed. Both ensuites are fully tiled and have large showers. All linen is provided and of a very high quality. Should you wish to have just one bedroom this is possible.

You can either rent one room only (ranging from 190 to 240NZD depending on season) and in addition the second room which is an extra NZD100 always, regardless of season. You will always have exclusive use of the apartment, even if only one room is booked.

Gibbston valley is situated half an hours drive from the hustle bustle of Queenstown. It is an award winning wine growing region, with a range of tasting rooms to enjoy. We have great cycle and walking tracks. The first commercial bungy operation started here and it is always great either to participate or just watch from the viewing platform.

10 minutes away is historic Arrowtown where you can enjoy a range of restaurants and bars. If it s golf you like there are 3 wonderful golf course to choose from.

We are within 3/4 hour drive to 3 ski fields. Coronet Peak, Cardrona or The Remarkables,

This is a great place to relax and enjoy the views.

  • Our stay at Lynne's Gibbston valley home was outstanding in every way. The house was not only exactly as depicted in the photographs - it was better in reality. We felt we had complete privacy among the mountains and grassy bunds surrounding this property. The accommodation was beautifully furnished and the kitchen well-equipped with superb gas stove-top and modern appliances. Traveling with our 9-month old son was an ease staying here - a perfectly safe and calming environment. We never felt cold since the underfloor heating system worked a treat. During our 1-week trip we alos stayed in the hart of Queenstown at a hotel, but our time spent in Gibbston was much better. Lynne's place is a 5 minute drive from all the boutique wineries of the Gibbston valley. I went for a hike up the Coal Pit Rd running past Lynne's property and it was amazing. We can not recommend this property more highly - a very satisfying and memorable stay in one of the most amazing landscapes we have experienced.

  • Lynne's place was great! The house was spacious and at the same time cosy, superbly furnished, very clean and fully equipped. It's located on a hill, overlooking a valley and mountains. A stunning view that you can adore while having your breakfast or drinking coffee.

Lynne and Tony are also great hosts. They took care of everything and even lit the fireplace so we could come to a warm place after a whole day on the road.

Their unusual pets, Cheryl and Beryl, are one of the highlights of our whole NZ experience. :)

  • Lynne's place was perfect-- from the cozy fireplace to the well equipped kitchen, we were beyond happy to be staying at her place in Gibbston. For wine lovers, the place is conveniently located right in the thick of the Gibbston wineries. For foodies, head in to Arrowtown and check out the great restaurants and cafes. Because we loved the house so much, we found that we preferred to grab a bottle of wine and some local food and head to the house for an evening in and have a feeling you'll end up doing the same! In summary, the house and location are wonderful. We'd highly recommend staying at Lynne's beautiful home if you're in the area or considering a trip this way.

  • We loved our stay at Valley Hideaway! The place is very well furnished - clean, spacious and very comfortable! Great kitchen! We cooked one night and had no trouble finding anything we needed. The surrounding mountains are beautiful and much bigger than they appear in the pictures! The place offers excellent views! We didn't want to leave.

Would highly recommend. Easy 30 min drive to Queenstown and 15 min to Arrowtown (very cute!). Views make this place worth the drive!

The host (Lynne) gave us plenty of space but was on hand should we have needed.

  • We stayed here for our honeymoon, and loved it so much. This is the perfect getaway spot! Beautifully decorated, very comfortable, and with views to die for. The location was fantastic, as we wanted something quiet but close enough to shops, restaurants etc (5 mins drive to Arrowtown, 20 mins to Queenstown); the kitchen and bathroom are lovely and modern; and the heating (and fireplace) kept the house cosy and warm at all times. But special mention has to go to the bed: this is the bed to end all beds. Insanely cosy, plush and warm. To top it off, Lynne and Tony were wonderful hosts - friendly and attentive, but gave us complete privacy and space. We couldn't have been happier with our accommodation choice!

  • Lynn Flemings from Coalpit Gibston Valley OTAGO NZ,
Since day one Lynn sounds friendly & reply to all my text messages promptly. Even though we have never met but she already make us feel welcome.
The house was awesome, very comfortable , clean & spacious .
It had a high tech heating system & a 6 star bed making our stay sooo comfortable. In the morning it is above the clouds surrounded by mountains.
Its like a planetarium at night with fulll view of the stars. Its location is an easy 20 minutes drive to Queenstown city centre.
A short session with her makes the stay special. It's just once in a lifetime experience. But for us it's not going to be the last.
We will be back again to enjoy a longer stay with her.She definitely is an exemplary host. We definitely will come again and would recommend our to friends to stay at VALLEY HIDEAWAY AT MOUNTAINS with Lynne Flemmings

  • Where do I begin? Lynne & Tony are beyond words but let me try: Their newly built hideaway is as close as you could ever come to living the kiwi dream. Tucked away on top of a mountain you will wake up to misty valleys and feel like you're in the middle of the 'Lord of the Rings' saga except with all the comforts you could think of: state of the art kitchen, bathroom, underfloor heating, the most heavenly bed you have ever closed your eyes on...oh you name it, these avid world-travellers have thought of literally everything. I arrived to a crackling fire (cheesery & vineyards at your doorstep - bring plenty because you won't want to leave your fireside spot) and from there on memories were made. Watch out for Tony's pets (secret! ;), they might just make you laugh as much as this joke-cracking kiwi himself! Lynne & Tony, thank you for your generous hospitality, the countless local tips and wonderful time, the highlight of my time in NZ! I will be back!

I am English and have been living in NZ for 26 years. I have travelled throughout NZ but the Southern Lakes Area is my favourite place to be and I am so lucky that I can live here. We have beautiful scenery and a great climate really suited to the outdoors life. My family enjoy, hiking, biking, boating and skiing in the winter. We also enjoy 4x4 wheel driving.
