About this listing
Welcome! Herzlich Willkommen! Добро пожаловать!
I'm offering a small private room with adjacent private 3/4 bath in a simple but cozy, bright, and clean townhouse, for stays of 5 nights or longer.
The room is quite small but clean and comfortable, equipped with a queen-size bed and an empty closet for you to use. Your room and private 3/4 bath are on the lower level of a 3-bedroom townhouse - the only other small bedroom on that level is not used much so you have some privacy. Please note there is no TV in the room (but WiFi for your device, or you're welcome to watch Netflix upstairs in the living room).
On the upper level are the laundry (inside master bath), kitchen, and living area with TV/DVD Player (note: no cable, but there is Netflix) that you are welcome to use during your stay.
Interaction with Guests
Between work and other activities that keep me busy, I may not be home a lot, especially in the summer, but I will be happy to answer any questions you have in advance of or at your arrival and provide you with our suggestions for activities to match you interests - outdoor or otherwise. I've lived in Alaska for over 12 years and am happy to provide any advice that can help you fall in love with this incredible place as much as I did!
The house is conveniently located in a residential area of mid-town Anchorage, about 15 minutes by car from the airport, 10-minute drive to downtown, and less than 10 minutes to get out of town on the gorgeous scenic Seward highway in direction of Girdwood and the Kenai peninsula.
I highly recommend a car for your stay - rental or otherwise. Many of the best attractions in the Anchorage area are not accessible by public transportation! At the house, you will have a designated driveway parking spot. Stores and restaurants are only a short drive away (but not within walking distance). There is a bus station about a 10-minute walk from the house if you are relying on public transportation (but again, Anchorage public transportation is not the best!)
Other Things to Note
I can be quite flexible with arrival and departure times and don't mind odd hours, but if you are arriving before 6 a.m. please book for the night of arrival - i.e., if you are arriving at 2 a.m. on the 2nd I will consider your arrival to be the night of the 1st.
If I'm not at home when you arrive, we can make arrangements for you to get in through the garage with a key code - only for guests with existing positive reviews and verified ID.
No drugs or illegal activity. Sorry, I cannot accommodate pets. Smoking is not permitted. You are welcome to use the common areas (living room, dining area, kitchen, laundry) but please leave them in the condition you found them. Also, please take your shoes off in the house.
Rebekah wasn't able to meet us but gave us clear instructions on how to get in and make ourselves at home. Rebekah was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was as described and the bed very comfortable. It is a friendly neighbourhood and within short walking distance of the local bus system, but would recommend hiring a car to see Anchorage properly.
Cosy, small - yes
Private bath - yes
Rebekah was home to welcome us and show us our living area. She offered for us to use the laundry, kitchen, and television area. She was gone for a week for work in Juneau which was fine because we really felt comfortable watching television in the evening.
Rebekah was very accommodating. She checked in with us before we flew out for our stay. And even though she was not going to be home to meet us when we arrived, she provided us with an alternate means of getting into the place.
When we finally did meet her, she was super friendly and helpful and gave us a few suggestions of what to check out in downtown Anchorage. She even gave us leftovers to have which we were not expecting at all. We tried to refuse but she wouldn't take no for an answer.
The location was nice too. It's close to the main highway and downtown was reasonably close too. The place looked really nice overall. We really enjoyed staying here and exploring Anchorage and the surrounding area. We can't wait to come back!
Rebekah was very friendly and welcoming. Her place was perfect for what I had in mind, and she was great about giving me tips on what to check out while in Anchorage. The location was nice - just a quick drive away from the heart of the city. Overall, I would recommend this place and would stay here again.
LISTING WAS JUST AS LISTED. VERY CLEAN HOUSE. Perfect location. our host was very helpful with directions.
Thanks for a very comfortable bed! We slept well and appreciated the cleanliness of the whole place. Didn't get to meet Rebekah due to our schedule but felt quite welcome. Thanks for the treats and water by the bed!
I had the opportunity to stay with Rebekah for a little over 6 weeks. This was hands down the best place I could have found to stay. She was more than willing to accommodate my late arrival (2am). Having been in AK for many years now her knowledge about the different places and things to do was beyond helpful. I would stay with her again in a heartbeat!! Highly recommend to everyone!
