Our cozy one bedroom apartment is located right on North Mississippi Ave. The street is lined with artisan coffee shops, trendy restaurants, bars, and several music venues. It's 5-15 minutes to downtown PDX no matter how you decide to get there.
The front entrance to the apartment takes you directly into the living room. There is a long leather couch along the right-hand wall, and a large mirror on the left hand side.
The room on the right is the kitchen, which is fully stocked with utensils, appliances, and a large pantry. The room on the left is the bedroom, with a queen-size bed (with fresh linen and comforter), closet space, and dresser space. Also, the bathroom is located inside the bedroom, with a claw-foot tub.
You can step out through the windows in the living room onto a small patio. On the other side of the divider is a roof that looks onto the bustling Mississippi Avenue. It is the building's policy that you do not climb over that divider onto the roof.
A coin-operated washer and dryer are located in the hallway of the building. In the rear of the building there is a community patio with a picnic table and chairs.
Interaction with Guests
I would love to meet you as we are leaving the apartment. Of course, that's not always possible, so we can remotely buzz you in remotely, and leave the keys for you at the front door.
Mississippi Avenue is one of the most lively streets in Portland. It is atop a plateau on the east side, allowing you to see the skyscrapers of downtown.
Upon leaving the front door, there are multiple options for coffee, tea, and quick bites to eat. Three blocks away, there is a lot with several gourmet food carts. Across the street is one of the best (and busiest) breakfast spots in town. There is great nightlife on this street as well, with Mississippi Studios and a wide range of bars. It should also be noted that a lot of the action on the street is contained in the various venues, so you can easily have a peaceful evening out on this street.
By Car: Within 1/4 mile, there are entrances to both I-5 and I-405 (Freemont Bridge). It takes under 5 minutes to get to downtown Portland by car.
By Bus: One block away is the 4 Bus, which will take you directly to downtown Portland. It also stops at the Rose Quarter, where you can transfer to various MAX lines (the Red Line will take you directly to/from PDX airport).
By Bike: About 5 blocks away are the Vancouver/Williams thoroughfares, which are two of the most bike-friendly commuter streets in town. They are hubs to other bike-friendly routes, including one directly to Downtown Portland.
Simply to treat the apartment as if it were your own.
Jason was a great host, made everything simple and enjoyable. He has a great apartment right in the middle of all the action that Mississippi has to offer. He was always accessible and helpful. Would definitely try to stay at his location the next time I'm there.
Jason's apartment on N. Mississippi was perfect for our quick trip to Portland. Very convenient location - the neighborhood is home to many great restaurants and fun bars. Jason was also very quick to reply when we had any questions regarding the apartment.
The apartment was awesome. Very clean and cozy. The building was safe and secure. Lots of street parking all around. The neighborhood was very lively. Perfect for what I was looking for. Awesome bars and restaurants on the same block. Also great location if you're looking to head east to see the sights. No bridges to cross. I'd definitely stay here again.
We stayed at Jason's one bedroom apartment for two days and the area was right in the heart of North Portland on Mississippi Ave. The apartment was comfortably sized for two people and had a lot of light coming in. There were many good places to eat in walking distance and the light rail is only a few blocks away and can take one anywhere in Portland that they want to go!
Jason was really friendly and helpful in organising our booking, in particular when he wasn't at the apartment. My friend & I stayed at his apartment for 1 night and it's in a superb location, right on Mississipi Av with lots of shops & bars nearby. Jason went out of his way to help us enjoy our stay when he wasn't around and was a accommodating host! Thanks again
Great place to stay! Jason was very accommodating, providing us with a list of instructions and advice about the neighborhood ahead of time. The apartment was clean and comfortable, and the neighborhood is very cool. It's a nice little section of Portland, with lots to eat, drink, and do. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.
Although we never were able to personally meet him, Jason was a great host! He was available when we needed him and was very prompt in every reply. Communication couldn't have been easier.
The place itself was clean and cozy. Not knowing Portland very well, we were pleasantly surprised by the neighborhood. It's a beautiful and lively area with great restaurants. We spent a lot of our time just wandering the streets of the area. It's definitely one of the coolest neighborhoods I've been to! Getting downtown was also really easy. Although we didn't take the bus, we were able to take a short walk to the tram.
We would definitely stay here again!
