Nice apartment, perfect for a couple or single traveller, in a cool multicultural neighbourhood full of good restaurants, cafes and bars. A good vibe.
Bruno is a friendly and helpful host, full of good tips.
While the view from the apartment is beautiful, we ended up leaving early. The building has a strong cigarette smell and for a non-smoker it gave me a headache. While the apartment was not priced high, we felt it should have been priced lower for what you get with the building and location. It was a further walk from the metro station that I anticipated upon booking.
Bruno & Leslie where great throughout the process and were quick to communicate. They were not available to meet us, but had a friend let us into the apartment.
Bruno was so accommodating taking time from his personal schedule to make us feel at home. Everything that we needed for our stay was at our fingertips, Bruno sets up the apartment to make it a travelers paradise. With maps, and recommendations and lightning fast WiFi. Strongly recommend Sounds Jazz Bar down the street.
Has everything you need
Ideal for a couple
Apartment was just described with a great view. Location is a short walk to grand place. Supermarket and restaurants are nearby.
Although the apartment itself is great, the building itself is a bit old and dark, may not be the best place for single female traveler. If you are coming as a group it is fine.
Lesley and Bruno met us personally at their flat with information tailored to our interests.
The flat is just as it looks in the picture, "on top of" the city. This is a perfect spot to explore Brussels. It is set in a safe multi ethnic area within easy walking distance of "must sees". A really comfortable little pearl in the heart of the city. Highly recommended.
Bruno could not have been nicer or helpful during our stay. He went above and beyond to be accommodating to us. He was there to meet us, gave us great tips on how to get around the city. The apartment was very very clean and comfortable, with an amazing view. We emailed him about how to get a cab to the airport, he called for us!
About the Host, Bruno & Leslie
Born in Brussels we have been living in the Ixelles neighborhood since our young age. After my university degree in computer science I choose to travel around the world (Australia, Asia, Latin America, ...). During this period Leslie ended a Phd in Chemistry close to Chicago. When I went back to Brussels I bought a small and cosy apartment offering us a daily landscape on the city. We have been living 5 years at this place. With Leslie we loved to live there, we could fall asleep looking at the stars and wake up front of a blue or a cloudy sky. We also loved to live in this place due to the neighbourhood soul and ideally located. Sometime we came back from work and easily joined friends to any bar, some time we were tired and choose to stay quiet at home or at the last minute we changed our plan and went to cinema or to restaurant. The sunday we loved to wake up and to walk to the centrum of the city to look at any exhibition or just to stroll on the Brussels' streets. Sometime we got the feeling of living in a cozy hotel room and early we started to think about sharing our place with guest from all around the world. Since we discovered AirBnB it looked to us as a perfect match. We enjoy the idea of welcoming guest from all around the world in our native city and to help them to love it :)
