Romina and Jose were fantastic hosts! This was my first time using AirBnB, so I was quite nervous about the whole process - but - Romina and Jose were welcoming and very considerate. They are a laid back couple, but also very much want to make sure the guest feels comfortable and at home. Regarding their apartment, it was clean, welcoming, and quiet. Also, the location is superb as it is a very popular/safe area in Lima. There was a doorman most of the time at the main entrance and an elevator. I would absolutely stay here again and will continue to stay in touch with the hosts.
I would honestly recommend this posting for any potential guests staying in Lima.
Looking at this picture of my room in Romina and Jose's apartment in Miraflores brings back good memories. First, the location is perfect. They live in a safe building in a neighborhood with a lot of wonderful restaurants, a grocery store on the corner, a laundry down the street, banks, etc. The apartment is only a few blocks away from the Metropolitana, the main public transport throughout Lima. During my visit, Romina and Jose helped me to find all of the offices I had to visit in the city using public transportation and answered a lot of questions. Jose even drove by one office that was more complexly located to make sure of the location before I had to find it the next day. I felt at home with them in their apartment and would certainly ask to stay again.
I had the most wonderful time staying with Romina and José! I was in Lima for 3 months for an internship and had never visited the city before. Being a woman travelling alone, I was nervous to find a place to stay that was safe, both in terms of the people I live with and location. The location of the apartment itself was ideal. It is only a couple of blocks from the malecon, or boardwalk, that looks directly over the ocean and is where a lot of the nicest hotels and shopping are located. It was ideal for running/walking/roller blading, including at night. The apartment is also in a very quiet location. Though major roads and supermarkets are nearby, it was nice and quiet throughout the day. It's the ideal location between Barranco, which has a great somewhat bohemian night life, and San Isidro, the financial district of the city and where I was working. As far as Romina and José, I can't even begin to express what amazing people they are! José studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston and plays incredible jazz music. I enjoyed going to one of his concerts as well as listen to him practice in the flat. Romina is the nicest person and has spent time living in London as well as the British Virgin Islands. I loved getting to know them both and am very grateful for their warm hospitality and friendship. They are truly accommodating and genuine people! Even when I was unable to catch my flight from Lima, they welcomed me back to the apartment with open arms, great conversation and some pizza for an extra night. I could not be more pleased with my stay in Lima with Romina and José!
I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.
Romina and Jose are quality people.
Their apartment is clean, quiet, and in the best area of Mira Flores in my opinion.
Everything is within a 1-10min walk. Literally step outside their building and you've got choices of places to eat from very inexpensive, to medium priced. All affordable and good food.
Restaurants, grocery stores, the ocean side, parks, shopping centers...it's all there.
I highly recommend Romina and Jose's place for anyone visiting Lima and wanting to experience what Mira Flores has to offer as well as meeting good people.
I stayed quite a long time at Romina's and José's place and I had a really good time. I felt like at home - their apartment is clean and comfortable and so is the room. The bed is really comfortable (as I was sick I know that it still is comfortable after staying there for quite a bit).
Romina and José are both really lovely and helpful people. The neighbourhood is also great with the ocean in walking distance and everything else you need around. I felt safe all the time.
For anyone looking for a safe, clean and cozy place to stay in Miraflores being hosted by lovely hosts I would recommend this place!
About the Host, Romina
We are a friendly young couple from Peru. We speak fluent spanish, english, italian, and also intermediate german.
We love nature, reading, sports and practice meditation.
I studied Business and I have my own clothing brand call iPiq. I lived in London for two years so I can understand what it is to look for a cozy and safe place in other city.
José studied Music in Berklee College (Boston, USA). You can hear him playing sometimes at home. He loves surfing, in Lima you can find some of the best waves to surf.
As you know here in Lima you can find the best places to eat. Near our place, only a few blocks away, we have the promenade (malecón) with the amazing ocean view, ideal for walking, running, reading or having a picnic.
