Other things to note
Going on our third record-breaking year, Austin's population has increased by over 25,000 people in the last 2.5 years. A huge portion of our newest family members have settled in East Austin. It truly is the new place to be. See why USA Today mentioned East Austin as one of the '10 Best Neighborhoods Tourists Haven't Found Yet' & New York Times refers to us as '...the city's newly fashionable arts district...'
Come witness life taking place as each coming day introduces a brand new Austin flavor - new businesses, brand new faces and people of all cultures and walks of life. Though you're in the middle of the city you might not know it, as your neighbors pass quietly and/or give you a friendly Texas 'hello'. Still, through the treetops you can see the changing face of Austin and its cascading buildings of downtown.
No smoking in the house. No exceptions. No cigarette butts littering the yard. No inviting friends back to the place late at night.
I grew up in a military family so we moved a lot while I was growing up. I still really enjoy traveling and checking out new places. Top favorite travel destination (so far)? Easy. Thailand! I really enjoy hosting people traveling to Austin. The city is great and has so much to offer!
