Jan is a great host and easy to contact. I loved the condo location, close to the beach. The condo is clean and has a fully stocked kitchen. It is enough for two or three people. I plan to stay in this condo again. Thanks---Jan
Jan is an amazing host - she made us feel welcome in so many ways. We made a reservation request for the following day after placing the reservation, and she accepted and responded very quickly. She left a sweet card for my husband and I (this was our 2 year anniversary trip) that made us feel cared for. She was easy to get in touch with via text and responded very quickly. She has an awesome little notebook full of helpful and interesting information about the apartment and about different restaurants, places, and things to see in the area.
The apartment cottage is very quaint and comfortable - perfect for a couple’s getaway, but would also comfortably fit 4 people. We loved the beachy decor and feel of the cottage! The bed in the bedroom is very comfortable with lots of big fluffy pillows. We loved the convenience of the chest of drawers in the bedroom to unpack a little bit and really feel at home. The kitchen is also really great to make your stay feel more like you’re at home…it is fully stocked with easy to find pots & pans, dishes, utensils, a fridge, microwave, and stove/oven. There are a couple Publix grocery stores within 5-10 miles of the apartment and it was great to save money and cook our own meals. It is a short walk right down to the beach and there are a couple beach chairs, towels, and body boards included with the apartment. We felt safe in the neighborhood…we were out walking after sunset one evening and it was nice and quiet.
Everything is just as explained and pictured on the listing - we were extremely happy with our stay and we hope to go back in the future!
The flat was comfortable and clean and adequately equipped. We liked the location which is a very short walk to a wonderful beach. Also, make sure you visit the Kennedy Space Center, a unique and inspiring experience.
Jan was a great host with very easy and frequent communication! The condo was in good condition and well-oufitted, and you can't beat the easy access to a great beach. I'm not sure what the other reviewer was talking about in terms of security and parking - my large SUV fit just fine in the designated parking space in the lot, and we had no security concerns, either at the condo building or walking to the beach. It's cozy for 4 people but it worked great for a comfy landing place in between beach visits.
We loved staying at Jan's condo. It was a bit smaller than we anticipated but it was a perfect one block walk to the beach. One of the best parts about this place is the fact that it's so close to Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach, Ron Juan's Surf Shop and more. During the summer months sea turtles come up and lay eggs on the beach and there's a bioluminescence place to go kayaking nearby. We just got home last night and we already miss it.
We had a little trouble finding the parking spot , due to cars being parked on the line the entire visit and , and if you had a larger vehicle besides a small car , it would not fit.
The initial view of the place. , is like an apartment complex, not what I think of when I hear "beach condo"!
The police station is very close , thankfully , had it not been , I would not have felt safe . Their were several times we came back from dinner, once a car followed us around the block three times , and two times , Erie lookie people were talking around , looked up to no good.
The police were called to the complex across the street twice , once for dogs roaming around.
Two out of our four night we heard dogs howling. , and whining , the unit right next door has a dog , and across the middle to the next area has one too, people left their windows open which made the barking even louder .
The beach chairs are falling apart and are not comfortable and I wish we had of brought ours , oh well! I think having pictures of the bathroom , and outside of the unit would have made me make a different decision.
We were forced to stay inside the bedroom are, which has no tv , because the living room and kitchen have blinds you can see straight thru, if you are outside and it's nighttime. All the lights have to be off , in order for you to not see it from outside . It's more of a shading and not full blinds . We drove to cocoa every day, as I stayed before we were not comfortable walking in this area to the beach.
The pros- the comfy beach and shower towels , the ac in the bedroom worked well.
A beautiful place close to the sea.
If you are looking for a quite, beautiful furnished place to stay in a decent residential area in Cape Canaveral, this is your place. One block walking distance to the sea, 2 miles to Cocoa Beach Pier.
The appartement is fully furnished including beach equipment, you will miss nothing, designated parking space in front and Jan is a perfect host. She took care of everything and was very responsive to my questions. On a scale from 1-10 I personally would give both an 11.
I've traveled many places including Europe, South America, and Australia, and I always prefer to stay in someone's home rather than a hotel because I feel I get more of the flavor of what it's like to be a local that way. My hosts have always given me great advise on the best things to see and do while I'm on their turf and I enjoy doing the same for my guests. Hosting is something I've always gravitated to whether as an event planner or as a travel tour planner. Since I love being near the ocean, I moved to this area from the Midwest a couple of years ago, and have really enjoyed "jumping in with both feet" and living the Florida lifestyle that I would love to share with you. My favorite thing to do is to enjoy a glass of wine and good conversation outdoors enjoying the sea breeze with friends. My motto is: Just another day in Paradise where every hour is happy!
