Very clean, nice neighborhood, really close to a convenient subway line which worked out really well for us. We had the third floor to ourselves with a clean bathroom stocked with any toiletries we might have forgotten. Thanks Laurie! Also shoutout to Robin and Batman, they wer…

Laurie's place has character and charm, and the garden is a lovely place to enjoy coffee and breakfast. My friend and I stayed in the room with twin beds, which is on the top floor next to the shared bathroom. The space upstairs is, like most living spaces in this neighborhood, q…

Response from Laurie:
Just want to clarify that it is absolutely possible to ask questions before booking, and almost all people do, so all questions can be answered in advance. There's an option to message the host. I apologized that for the first time in 8 years, and several thousand guests, I had missed that both guests wanted the twin bedroom. Since you had originally asked for 2 rooms, I felt, feel, it was a reasonable effort to offer you a second room for just the cleaning fee, and ask you to consider seeing the second room to see if it would work, understanding that it might not. Having a second room when you'd originally asked for a second room did not seem like a huge inconvenience - it's a huge room and tons more space for each of you. I did not back off when you threatened to cancel - that would have been a very fair decision on your part; I cared about putting you in that bind. I regret that you feel so harshly about my effort to solve a problem. Luckily for me the other guest tried hard to work out this problem notwithstanding that she'd booked first.
