Situated off the main road through Bradshaw village the property was originally two farm cottages which have been knocked together creating a large and well proportioned home. The house is south facing with far reaching views across the surrounding countryside and down across the town of Halifax, West Yorkshire.
Downstairs there is a large lounge with original beams, an open fireplace, plenty of comfortable seating and large front facing windows. Also available for use is the TV with sky+ HD, home cinema sound and a Nintendo Wii with a few games. A range of board games and a poker set can also be enjoyed. Off the lounge there is a utility room, where you will find the washer dryer and access to the garden via a stable door, and a small store room.
On the opposite side of the house there is a large stone floored dining room, with large table and chairs, which opens on to the kitchen. The kitchen features two fridges, a freezer, gas oven and hob, microwave, kettle, dishwasher, sink and drainer.
Upstairs there are three double bedrooms, a single room with a cotbed suitable for a young child and a large family bathroom featuring a large bath with an overhead shower. There is a futon in the dining room which can be used as an additional double bed if required.
Outside there is a good sized garden to the side and a small lawn and flagged area to the front. A couple of benches and additional outdoor seats are available along with a large barrel barbeque and tools. Guests will need to provide their own fuel. Parking is available for approximately three vehicles on the gravelled driveway.
Bradshaw village has an excellent pub, The Golden Fleece, and the cricket club also has a friendly bar open every evening during the summer months. The area provides an excellent base from which to explore West Yorkshire with many attractions, towns and cities within less than an hour drive; York, Manchester and Sheffield can also be reached in less than two hours. Alternatively you can just kick back, enjoy the view and play with the guinea pigs, Strawberry and Meg, though this is at your own risk!

We had a lovely time staying in this lovely family home.
It was exactly as described, clean and beautifully decorated.
The number of rooms and layout made it perfect for our family, it was especially great for children.
The scenery is idyllic and the location very peaceful.
Would highly recommend.
Just returned from three nights at this large cottage. Had a very comfortable stay. Comfy beds, clean and tidy, tastefully furnished, ideally located for exploring the area (near Hebden Bridge and Eureka). The host had provided all bedding and towels, and there was a lovely children's bedroom and a large selection of good quality toys and books. There were even some miniature toiletries/samples in the main bedrooms for guests to use with the hosts' compliments.
lovely garden and views across the valley. Car needed as there is very little on the doorstep in the way of shops etc. Didn't try local pubs so can't vouch for them.
The only thing which would have made our stay perfect would be some blackout blinds available for the bedroom windows, or lined curtains. Our children woke even earlier than usual. Alternatively guests could be encouraged to bring portable ones.
the host was faultless in his communications (quick to respond, very helpful and personable. Would highly recommend.
We stayed in Ian's cottage over Christmas this year and we had a great time. The house is very easy to live in and the pictures do not do it enough justice! It has a great atmosphere and is in a fantastic location overlooking the Yorkshire hills near Halifax. It was very tidy when we arrived with bedding and towels provided. Couldn't have asked for more!
Our first experience of airbnb and after this it will not be the last. The cottage was in a fantastic location with extensive open views over Halifax. Our hosts left us with full instructions abut the property and where to find stuff. The local farm shop just up the road was a revelation.
The cottage is convenient for public transport with a bus stop at the end of the short lane.
This property is currently ideal for those with a young family.
Charming house with all things you could ever need and more. The house was clean, cozy, 3 bedrooms offered a lot of space for us and our children. By the way, the kids went crazy with all the toys they had available. The little garden was fine, the view of the green landscape fantastic. If you want to see a typical English countryside and stay in a nice house, book Ian! Thank you!
Excellent house! Homely feel. Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights stay there! Would definitely go back if all permits!
My wife and I share our house with our young son and both work full time as teachers. We love the area we live in and the way of life in Yorkshire which is relaxed and friendly; this will be our approach to being a host on Airbnb.
We are new to hosting but are sure you will find our house comfortable and well resourced; our aim is to be able to do more travelling ourselves, using our property to help fund it.
