Prvt Room SFO Airport w/ 50 Mb WiFi

House - Private room · Tuolumne Road, Millbrae, CA 94030, United States

Enjoy the private entrance room in a beautiful home with unbeatable views in the best part of Peninsula. The clean and comfortable bedroom for one person comes with a shared bathroom - with my daughter, in the quiet Millbrae city.

The Space

The room for rent is available for one person and located on the first floor of our house, with a separate entrance from the street. There is lots of parking directly in front of the house, at all times.

We have installed a full sized (a few inches smaller than a queen size) airbed. The pictures may show the smaller 'twin sized' bed, but I will update the photos soon to show the full sized bed.

The house has bathrooms and kitchen upstairs, that is shared with the family. You will receive your own key and can come and go any time of the day and night without needing to walk through the main house entrance.

We are a family of computer professional, and work from home. We offer free Wifi at a super-fast 50 Mbps speed, and also provide free use of a Windows 8 computer with a computer chair and (website hidden) Plenty of safe street parking available in front of the house, with nearby access to San Francisco International airport. We also provide heater and electrical blanket for any cold winter nights.

Interaction with Guests

Enjoy the private entrance room in a beautiful home with unbeatable views. No interaction is required, but we enjoy to make friends and meet new people.

The Neighborhood

Millbrae city has several good grocery stores (Trader Joes , Safeway, Luckys, Wallgreens), weekend farmers market, and lots of Chinese and Asian restaurants in downtown Millbrae, which is a 26 mins walk from the house. Some of the grocery stores are open 24 hours per day.

Millbrae is extremely safe and quiet at all hours of the day and night.

Getting around

BART or Caltrain stations near our house provides easy access to downtown San Francisco and San Jose. Day parking for cars is available at Millbrae BART station for people wanting to avoid the San Francisco parking problems.

If you need to rent a car, we recommend (website hidden) rental, at around $20 per day. This is about 50% lower than most of the SFO airport car rental companies. We have no affiliation with this company, but like their service and cars. Keep in mind they have limited office hours on the weekend, if you are arriving late in the day.

The home is a 15-20 min walk from downtown Millbrae and is near the SFO airport. Walk to Starbucks, great restaurants, bank, post office and anything else you could possibly need in downtown Millbrae. Twenty six minute walk to BART or Cal train stations from our house.

Our house is located within 5-10 mins driving to the San Francisco airport, BART and Millbrae Caltrain stations. It will cost about $20 to take taxi from the SFO airport to our house, or you can walk to BART/Caltrain stations from our house.

Other Things to Note

Our neighborhood is quiet and safe. The backyard faces forest area and within walking distance to the large San Andreas Lake and park system - ideal for walking, jogging or bicycling.

We have blue skies for 9 months of the year. The weather is normally warm and we are not bothered by the fog-belt, like so often in nearby San Francisco or Daly City.

We love Millbrae for the many good restaurants and good weather. We know Millbrae very well, and will be happy to give advice and suggestions for places to eat good food. Let us know if you have any questions about our city or the San Francisco Bay Area.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Wonderful view and a very helpful host. (website hidden) maps wasn't completely accurate with the directions from Hwy 101 (the turn off of Helen Street), so if you're coming that way, you might want to consult with Nils in advance. I found the way without much trouble. Large room and lots of privacy.

  • Imagine finally landing at SFO after a full day in transit. You're tired, on edge, and aren't entirely sure of the local time. Fifteen minutes later you arrive at this home, look out onto the San Francisco bay, smell the fresh air, and take a deep breath... A-a-a-ah. Relief. You've made it.

OK, recharged? Drive five minutes to downtown Millbrae and enjoy restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, and free parking. Or hop onto I-280 -- just a three minutes away -- and zip north or south along the peninsula. When it's finally time to call it a night, you'll be glad you're staying here.

  • Nils was a very kind and helpful host. His family is a joy to interact with. The house and room are very dated, but clean, comfortable, and safe. About 1.5 miles from the house is some of the best Asian food anywhere. I highly recommend eating there once or twice. Thank you, Nils.

  • This was my first time using Airbnb. Nils was an excellent host. He picked me up from the BART station when I arrived and showed me around the house. It's a really nice space because you have your own entrance so outside of the bathrooms, it's like you have your own private studio. Nils was both professional and friendly. I would recommend him to anyone looking to stay in the area.
