A newly renovated 800sf loft apartment in the heart of Vancouver, blocks from Whole Foods, the Lululemon Lab, cafes, restaurants, community gym, Science World, seawall, VGH, and SkyTrain. Plenty of free on-street parking. This unit shares the lot with our main house, tucked away behind a privacy fence in the old garment district of Vancouver. Great views of downtown and the North Shore mountains. We are 6 blocks from the water and the wonderful seawall bike and jogging path. Vancouver has a rich cycling culture and there are well-marked bike paths throughout the city. We live along one of them.
Your apartment has a full kitchen with eating area, living room with flat panel TV, wireless internet, and a loft bedroom with queen bed and a memory foam mattress. The apartment is in pristine condition.
There is a BBQ in the front that you are welcome to use. We have ample on-street parking as well as a private lot in back we are happy to share.
Interaction with Guests
We love to meet our guests but also respect their need for privacy. We often act as a Vancouver concierge, directing guests to the best restaurants, parks, coffee shops in the neighborhoods they are touring.
If this was NYC, we'd be Brooklyn. Lots of great architecture, coffee shops, bike lanes, blocks from the seawall, shopping, and SkyTrain. And yet it's quiet in the evenings, and our privacy fenced lot is our urban oasis.
There are two SkyTrain stations within 5 minutes walk. You can get anywhere you want in this city without a car.
1. If you need anything, just let us know. Directions to the best local gym, opinions on the best movie theatre in the area, best place to eat a healthy meal, best cocktail bar in the city (the three best are within walking distance), you name it.
2. No smoking inside. Outside is fine. Just let me know and I'll get you a butt can.
3. Please empty the fridge. Exceptions include milk, butter, eggs, things of this nature. Dispose any other leftovers.
4. Empty the trash. There's a dumpster out back. I'll show it to you.
5. Make sure all dishes are cleaned
6. Do your best to leave the studio in the same condition that you found it.
7. If you choose to stay with us, thank you! Your money is funding my boys' trips to Japan.
The apt is exactelly like the pictures. There are like 3 floors. First the kitchen and bath, second the living room and upstairs the bedroom. There is everything u need in the kitchen. We parked our car on street, 2min from the apt.
Only negative point: there is a renovation or something in the neightboor building which makes alot of noise beginning early in the morning.
We really enjoyed our stay there and would definitely come back again.
There is nothing but positive comments we can say about this studio. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and you are within walking distance to the trains, coffee shops, grocery stores, restaurants and the sea wall. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Not only would we stay there again, but we have recommended it to friends to visit Vancouver often.
We loved our stay here! The place was adorable... Very clean and comfortable and the hosts made every effort to accommodate us as we were traveling with a baby. We would definitely stay here again! The location was fantastic and the hosts were great.
Great location, good space with everything you need! Colourful! Mind your head -low ceiling in the bedroom
We really enjoyed our stay in Matt's Vancouver home. The guest house is well designed, spacious and comfortable. We really enjoyed the close access to so many great coffee shops, boutiques, and restaurants in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood. Our only complaint is that the wifi in the house was really spotty and sparse.
We apartment is very spacious, with a full kitchens you want to cook. The low ceiling in the room takes some getting used to. The location was a little too industrial for us, and not the trendy neighborhood we were looking for. It isn't far from downtown though.
I visit Vancouver several times a year to visit my son and have stayed at some lovely places. This one get kudos for price, spaciousness and location. I really enjoyed just how room it was and appreciate that it was a completely separate building from the host's house. It was also very clean. The couch was comfortable - a bonus because my son and I sometimes like to just hang out. I would definitely stay here again.
The location is perfect for every type of sightseeing. We walked to False Creek almost every day. And when you need a cab it never took more than 4 or 5 minutes due to its central location. This area is more commercial/light industrial than residential but this added to its charm.
I am an avid adventurer, ex-pat American who relocated to Vancouver to snowboard, kayak, hike, bike everywhere, and eat the delicious bounty available in these parts. I have been fortunate enough to share my journeys with my wife and two sons.
In 2011 we renovated the studio on our property to allow for guests. We found airbnb and, Voila! We get to meet interesting travellers from across the globe. Jenni and I have lived in the heart of Vancouver for eight years. We are taking 2015 to live in India for work and fun, but the apartment will still be available, managed by our good friend friend, Connie.
