The Space

Coming to Sevilla for a few nights? Perhaps a week or two for business? Or how about a long-term student assignment? Why not take advantage of the expansive, comfortable master suite in our lovely flat! With plenty of space to spread out, a dedicated make-up desk (for the stylish lady traveler!), and private flat-screen TV and DVD player brought to you by two long-time hotel professionals setting up our home for you, we are certain you will find yourself happily ensconced in comfort during your stay in our home!

Our home is a two-bedroom flat situated within the Macarena district of Sevilla. There is an abundance of parking around the building if you wish to bring your car; otherwise - as we find most guests utilize the excellent city public transportation - we are conveniently located next to a stop with buses every 5-10 minutes that will zoom you straight into the city center within minutes. The flat features a fully-equipped kitchen with all dishware, cookware, and stovetop espresso maker.

The bedroom features a double bed with luxury linens and plenty of pillows for relaxation, plenty of wardrobe space for all your clothes, and multiple mirrors to ensure you're looking good! You will also have a private flat-screen TV and DVD player at your disposal. Toiletries and towels are provided during your stay, for use in our spacious bathroom with combination shower and jacuzzi tub.

Other points included in your stay:

-A refreshing welcome drink

-A Resident´s Bus Pass (must be charged at any Tabaco store, but saves you 50% on city buses)

-Complimentary high-speed internet

-Hairdryer (in the bathroom)

-Complimentary laundry services (only for stays exceeding 7 days)

-Extensive recommendations on sights to see and places to eat

During your stay you will likely find yourself sharing the flat with guests in the other room (a maximum of 2 other people at any time). We have designed and laid out our flat to ensure the comfort and ease of all our guests, so you should find no problem being comfortable during your stay. We are traveling full-time in the US and Latin America so that we can push our boundaries even farther (and see how we can bring our hospitality philosophy to more of the world!). During this time we will be maintaining all email communication with our guests, but you will be greeted for check-in by our amazing cleaner, Marisa. She does not speak English, but is very friendly and looks forward to meeting you. As such, a condition for every guest staying with us is that we need to know your arrival time at least 24hrs in advance so that we can schedule Marisa to meet you - if are unable to provide this information, we are unfortunately not the host for you.

We are available to answer any questions you might have, and sincerely look forward to hearing from you (and later, hearing about the wonderful time you had staying with us)!

  • Lovely flat, clean and nicely decorated. Loads of info about seville left by Cristina and David . Easy to get to on the bus from the centre in ten minutes and even walk to if it's a nice day. Olives on arrival were a lovely touch. Has a great bath and shower too! Thanks very much.

  • My one-month stay was overally a nice experience, though it had some ups and downs. The apartment consists of 2 bedrooms (you might meet other guests too) and common usage of the living room, kitchen and bathroom. Situated in the residential neighborhood Macarena: quiet and peaceful in working days and a bit noisy in week-ends.

    Advantages:
    -comfortable apartment with equipped kitchen
-comfortable spacious bed and decorated rooms
-a nice cleaner-lady who does a great job and also does the laundry
-wi-fi provided, as well as TV (though I never used it)
-convenient location if you are coming by car as parking is free in the area
-friendly owners providing maps and info on the city
-> generally recommended for a long-residential stay if prepared to deal with some minor domestic troubles

    Disadvantages:
    -lack of air-conditioning/heating in winter
-hot water system with exchangeable gas bottles that need regular surveillance and might fail suddenly
-poor electricity system that overloads if you use the kitchen appliances when the laundry machine is on.
-residential area that is 30-min on foot to the city center, quiet but not the best if aiming at touristic visit
-->generally less recommended for a short-term touristic stay as some domestic troubles might coincide with your only day there.

Thanks to Cristina and David for their friendly attitude and replies online to questions throughout the stay: I had the chance to meet them just before they left fort their long trip abroad.
Thanks to Marisa, the cleaner, too: a very helpful and friendly lady. She speaks Spanish only.

    Response from Cristina & David:

    Dear Kamelia,
Thank you so much for your lovely review! We're very glad that you enjoyed your stay in our home, especially over such a long period :-). We wanted to address a few of the concerns you raised, as perhaps there's been some misunderstanding during your first trip to Spain. Our hot water system is actually very new, and the interchangeable bottles *are* the regular system here; a bottle running out and Marisa changing it with a ready replacement doesn't exactly constitute a system 'failure'. Our kitchen electrical was recently updated as well, but when a guest is running every single appliance (dishwasher, stove, laundry machine, kettle, and more)...well, we're in fact very glad that our electrical system recognizes unsafe usage. This is explained very openly in our manual and in our instructions in the house, as we simply ask each guest to be considerate of their utilities and the safety of our home. We are sorry, however, that you experienced these inconveniences during your extended stay. It was, indeed, very nice to meet you before we departed Spain, and we appreciate your feedback - we wish you the very best on the rest of your travels, and would be happy to welcome you back in Sevilla any time.

    Kind regards,
    David and Cristina

  • Christina and David have a very nice flat outside the center of Sevilla. We enjoyed our stay and got a lot of useful tips for great locations to eat and go out. The flat is in a quiet neighbourhood, so you should know that it's quite a while to walk into the city center. Nevertheless, it was a good decision to stay with them.

    Dear Verena,
We're so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us! Our flat is indeed in a quiet neighborhood, but it's all the more local for that! It's great to hear you that enjoyed our recommendations in the city, and we hope that you'll take the chance to visit us again sometime!

    Kindest regards,

  • We enjoyed a really nice stay at David's and Cristina's place. Even though there was some confusion about the address at the beginning and we didn't meet in person with them, David was more than helpful over the phone.
This place can be well recommended!

  • Lovely hosts, clean modern apartment in a residential area. Frequent buses into centre during the daytime. There is a night bus but we didn't use it as we didn't get the bus map until the last day.
David sent us to his favourite tapas bar which served exceptional food at ordinary prices. Also has good house wine!!!

  • We stayed 4 nights in total at Christina and David's accommodation. 3 nights in this accommodation and our last night (after a round trip) in their accommodation in the centre of Seville. Christina and David are very nice amiable hosts and are very helpful in suggesting places to visit and making you feel welcome. Thank you very much we really enjoyed our stay!

  • Everything about the flat and the hosts were great. Only disadvantage is the location. it is not in the city center. it takes like a 20-30 min. walk to the city center and train station.
communication and arranging everything was great. cristina and david were helping a lot and were very friendly.

About
We are Cristina and of My Kind of Crazy Urban Guesthouses, a small organization we've spent the last year developing devoted to the philosophy that it´s crazy one supposedly needs to spend a fortune to experience comfortable amenities and quality service, or that warmth and genuine hospitality don´t exist anymore. We have traveled both together and apart across Europe, the US, and briefly in Morocco, and - like many travelers - our lives have been vastly enriched by these experiences, and we've left little pieces of our hearts in many places. We make a lifestyle of the 'share economy' that Airbnb has been a blazing pioneer in popularizing, and so are very open to creative arrangements and exchanges between hosts! From mid-January forward we will be traveling to the US, and then south through Latin America so that we can push our boundaries even farther (and see how we can bring "My Kind of Crazy" to more of the world!). During this time we will be maintaining all email communication with our guests, but you will be greeted in the house by our amazing cleaner named Marisa. She does not speak English, but is very friendly and looks forward to meeting you.
