As much as you like! We love hosting travelers from all over the world and are in the house at the back of the property. We're here to offer helpful advice, or to chat over a cold one but if you want to do your thing it's your home during your stay!

The Neighborhood

We are located in Ha'ena which is a secluded just west of Hanalei just minutes away from the Na Pali Coast. The best snorkeling on the island is right around the corner from the house. If you know how to surf or want to learn how, Hanalei offers the best place to learn on the island.

  • Unfortunately we just got back to the midwest from a week in paradise at Esteban's perfect house :( It was so hard to leave the beautiful beach!
The house was exactly as described and more, very clean and modern and had all the essentials. We could see the beach from the living room window and it was only a 30 second walk across the road to get there. The location was quiet and close to so many good beaches but far enough away from Hanalei that you don't feel like a tourist, you feel like you're just staying at a friend's house.
There were plenty of beach supplies like towels, chairs, an umbrella, floaties, and much more. The bed was so comfortable and the whole house really felt like home for a week!
Could not have asked for a better place to spend our Honeymoon!
Thanks Esteban and Kili, we hope to be back soon!

  • Esteban was awesome from booking the place, to getting us set up at the house. Super friendly, welcoming, helpful.

The house was great and had all the amenities you need- fridge, full kitchen, beach chairs, towels, floating tubes, boogie board, etc. Quiet, cool and peaceful. We did have a couple gecko sightings inside the house! Apparently it's a thing on the island, and totally harmless.

The house is centrally located to Tunnels & Ke'e Beach, as well as the Na Pali coast trail. 10-15 min drive to Hanalei town.

    Would recommend!

  • We absolutely loved our stay. A short walk to the beach, a short drive or modest walk, to awesome snorkeling. Esteban and Kili were extremely helpful hosts. Esteban's brother, Mike, helped us with kayaking on the Hanalei River and a boat trip down the Na Pali coast. Kili arranged a helicopter trip to see the island from on high. None of this stuff is free, of course, but it's really nice knowing that your host is in tune with the local possibilities and very responsive.

  • My husband and I stayed for a week at the Hideaway. The North shore holds spectacular beauty and is teaming with life. We would most certainly come back again and bring our kids. The accommodations were comfortable, clean and had everything we needed.

  • We had a wonderful time. The hosts were very responsive. The house is very nice and quite large. It could accommodate 6 very easily (though we were only 2). The location was really amazing. The beach across the road was beautiful, and the swimming and snorkeling were great just a short walk over to Tunnels beach. The Haena area and Hanalei were both great as well - much more fun and enjoyable and less crowded than on the southeast shore. It was also a great base for hiking the gorgeous Kalalau trail. Being so close, we were able to get there quickly and ahead of the crowds to park close to the trailhead. Overall, we really enjoyed walking around on the beach, hiking, and in the evening driving the short 10 min to Hanalei to eat at the great restaurants there. Our hosts also recommended a great helicopter tour, which was another highlight of our trip.

Just fyi, there is some construction going on at the adjacent property - it was mostly very quiet and didn't bother us really, but it did detract a bit from the otherwise very serene, tranquil, and private atmosphere during the day while the workers were there. Not a huge deal, and it is likely to be finished soon from the looks of it, but worth mentioning.

  • We loved the location and solitude of the house. We woke up every morning in a comfortable bed with sunlight streaming through the window - what heaven! Having a washer and dryer was a huge plus and we enjoyed the overall setup and feel of the house - nice furniture, clean, and welcoming.

The house is a drive from Hanalei and other main areas, so if you want to be able to walk to multiple restaurants and shops, you'll want something closer. It is within walking distance of a great Mediterranean restaurant, though. They serve good steamed clams and very happy mai tais and pina coladas! Beautiful view and a very romantic spot to watch the sunset at the beach across the street but you can't swim there. You have to go elsewhere to snorkel and/or wade.

Esteban and Kili were very responsive and helpful! We enjoyed our time very much. Having our own space was very peaceful and restorative.

  • We arrived back in Toronto to -15° and were immediately wishing we could u-turn back to Haena!
We spent 7 days here on our honeymoon and it was awesome. The house is across the road from the beach, a quick 2 minute walk away. Unfortunately while we were there the beach was too rough to swim, but it was lovely to take walks of a night time.
The house was excellently stocked, tea and coffee, pots, pans, Tupperware, beach towels, beach chairs, a body board, cooler bag, wifi, cable (which we loved on the rainy nights, chilling on the couch :)), it was just what we were looking for after a hectic all in family wedding. Would 10000% recommended hiring a car, we met a couple who hadn't and they felt very isolated. We had a car though, so we felt secluded not isolated.
We popped into hanalei a lot, ate a lot of bubba's burgers! Swam at hanalei and a few beaches along the road into town too. If you get the chance, make a booking at Bar Acuda, so amazing.
The house is perfectly located in between hanalei and the end of the road, so all the hiking trails and caves etc.

We didn't get the chance to meet Esteban, he was on the mainland at the time but his response times to any emails were super quick (no more than 5 minutes). We did get to meet Ryan, Megan and Greg however, they live in the house at the back of the the property and were lovely, super chilled and left us to our devices unless we needed anything and were then really helpful.

The only thing that was lacking was an info book of sorts, which I've had at a lot of air bnbs. Things like wifi passwords, where the bins are, restaurant recommendations etc, but we just asked Ryan or Megan, or the guests in the front house (there are two air bnbs on the property and one permanent residence up the back) and we got everything sorted.

I'd highly recommend this place to just bliss out, slow down to island time, wake up to roosters, and enjoy life :)

  • We had a great stay at at Ha'ena Hideaway. Our two kids enjoyed having a big lawn to run around on between beach visits and other outings. We really enjoyed the fact that it's in a more 'remote' location but still close to go in to Hanalei and access to many great beaches and hikes in the area. Great hosts that went above and beyond to help out and nice to deal with in every way. Ample space for the whole family and comfortable beds.
