Lovely Georgian Village house, right on A1 and great stop for travellers going North or South. BUCKDEN village is an old coaching stop with great coaching inns! CAMBRIDGE is half an hour away.
Georgian House build 1760 makes a lovely home with three spare rooms and close to the centre of BUCKDEN village with it's interesting shops and pubs. A quiet garden and parking.
A useful stopover for travellers on the A1, a base for visiting Cambridge or London. CAMBRIDGE is only half an hour away, Madingley Park and Ride is useful. The nearest station is St Neots (15 minutes away) and LONDON is only 50 minutes from there.
This house is a useful base for local atractions such as BURLEIGH HOUSE and its Horse Trials in September, Audley End,WimpoleHall,Ely/Peterborough Cathedrals and of course the Colleges of Cambridge. It's also perfect to come home too after your visits to relax!
Breakfast is negotiable! Also evening meal.
Guests have the run of the house but when there are other people here, there is a need for some consideration.
This generally depends on the guests and what they prefer but the family kitchen is usually the focus.
The best thing about this House and Village is the ease with which one can go North South East or West. The A1 and A14 makes it ideal for travellers.
It's a little oasis away from the roads with a life and time of it's own.
There are buses from the village and there are mainline North/South trains from Huntingdon or St Neots on the PeterboroughKings Cross line
This is a historic village. Katharine of Aragon was imprisoned here, doubtless part of Thomas Cromwell's scheming and some of the old Palace of Lincoln remains.
Jane was an excellent host and our family of four enjoyed our short stay immensely. She made us feel extremely welcome into her beautiful house. We felt honored to be her first b&b guest. The house is perfect and the location even though some distance from Cambridge was perfect. Buck den is a very historical village and Jane proved to be a great historical story teller. I would definitely stay again if I visited the Cambridge area.
