Beautiful one-bedroom suite on a quiet street that's centrally located and within easy walking distance to the Castro district, Mission district (including the Valencia Street scene), and Dolores Park area and near public transportation ( BART and Muni) to all of downtown, Golden Gate Park, Union Square, and other sights.
The suite includes a bedroom with a queen-size bed, large desk, and closet and a front parlor room that has a futon couch, chair and rug Shared split bathroom (toilet room separate from sink shower, and tub room). Shared kitchen and dining area has a refrigerator, oven, plates and utensils, and microwave. Most mornings, I'll make a pot of coffee, and you're welcome to help yourself.
Inside the front door are 12 steps up to the flat, which has hardwood floors. Built in the 1910s, this house has many charming original Edwardian architectural features and can sometimes be a little drafty in the famously ever-changing San Francisco weather. The suite is quiet and decorated in a clean and simple style.
Coin-operated laundry next to a cute coffee shop that has internet access is available within two blocks. Walking distance to Safeway, Whole Foods as well as smaller local fresh produce stores.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions. Unfortunately I only have one awesome guest at a time.
1. BART the least expensive, medium to fast in speed from point A to B, it's $17.40 round trip, a 6 block walk to my house
2. A shuttle service not sure on the price, maybe $ 20-ish, slow due to other people getting off at different address's, it will drop you at the front door
3. a cab, the quickest and the most expensive maybe $40 +, there are different apps for cab/taxi services on smart phones these days could be those are a better deal than the traditional cabs
Other Things to Note
I wanted to give a brief tutorial on the "Joys of Parking in my Neighborhood" I've mostly covered it but if you have more questions feel free to ask!
A. There's not a lot of it, esp. at night
B. It's two hour parking during the day unless you have a permit. You can purchase one for two (2) weeks: $37, and six and eight weeks too, also available for one (1) day for $12. One could move the car every 2-3 hours too.
C. There is a public parking garage about five blocks away
Midnight - 9am: $1 per hour
9am - noon: $1.50 per hour
noon - 3pm: $2.50 per hour
3pm - 6pm: $1.50 per hour
6pm - Midnight: $2.50 per hour
Daily max: $22.00 per day
It's the usual: no smoking indoors, if you absolutely need to smoke please use the front door to go outside, no drug use and minimal alcohol use. My bedroom is off the kitchen and I'm a light sleeper so if the kitchen is needed after 10pm or the shower after 10pm perhaps it wouldn't be a good fit.
Lucas was welcoming and answered all my questions before I arrived. The place was quiet, clean, and there was a surprisingly large amount of space! The neighborhood was conveniently located near parks, good food, and public transportation.
Lucas made nice conversation in the morning and had good advice for the best places to walk in the city (and where not to walk).
Staying at Lucas home was amazing. Regarding the space itself, not only do you get a super comfortable bed and large bedroom, but your own exclusive lounge area too. Its like having your own apartment. Lucas was the perfect host, available and accessible, incredibly helpful and engaging, but also totally respectful of your privacy. The small touches like snacks and sweets in the room upon arrival, tea in the morning if required, helpful hints about all kinds of places in the city, were just some examples of the incredible generosity he showed me. The location is absolutely perfect, and you can walk to the Castro in minutes. Its also located a few blocks from the authentic Mission district on one side, and a few blocks from Market street on the other, where u can find a Whole foods, Safeway, and all the public transport you need. Dont hesitate to book this home away from home if youre visiting San Francisco.
There was good water and nice snacks in the room. Coffee in the morning.
Lucas is a kind and helpful host.
The house is quiet, simple and clean.
Lucas is a really great host. Nothing was a hassle. Very quiet location but close to everything you'd need, especially whole foods and all transport. Lucas gave me really great tips for getting around and what was on where. Spacious bed/sitting room and comfy bed. I could recommend.
Host respected my space. Answered questions and engaged in conversation when approached. Barely saw host as he was about his business. Clean dwelling. Fresh scent. Loved the sheets and pillows. Not far from "Whole Foods" and public transportation.
For my very first use of Air bnb I was very happy it was through Lucas. He was such an inviting host with a beautiful and big home who was always happy to talk to you or give advice on what to and where to go. The neighborhood itself is also quite nice that is very clearly situated to all the cars and restaurants of the mission area and 10min walk to the bars and clubs and life of the Castro.
Overall, a great experience made even better staying in such a large and open room with a very friendly and easy going Lucas.
