Birders should know that The Feathered Nest is a nice home that provides access to many birding hotspots. We varied our explorations, from a five minute walk down the road to a natural area in the desert to a two hour drive to The Nature Conservancy’s Ramsey Canyon Preserve (where we saw a tufted flycatcher). Laura and Pat loaned us a large cooler and loads of ice packs for snacks and cold water. No matter what the excursion, it was always great to get back to the Nest to cool off and recharge. The home is well maintained and the spa is clean and inviting. This was our second visit there, and I see more in the future.
We could not have asked for a more friendly welcome. We felt right at home. Thanks Laura
This was our second year at "The Nest" and we absolutely loved it! The accomodations are wonderful, the hosts are attentive and very gracious, and the private patio with comfortable seating, bird feeders and hot tub all make it a very special experience! We will be back!!
This was home away from home. Laura and Pat are the best next door neighbors, always there when needed, friends indeed. We loved our stay at the Feathered Nest and could have easily stayed longer. We found plenty of things to see and do. Pat recommended a great restaurant that we loved. Laura gave us locally made tortillas and Picante sauces that were the best! Plus she brought over home made cookies the morning we left.
The home is comfortable, we slept well. Loved the hot tub at night and watching the stars. God willing, we look forward to returning.
Laura was welcoming at the adorable entrance to the house, right there on time to watch out for us and greeted us so nicely. She showed us where extra blankets were and even demonstrated how to warm up the terrific hot tub. The place is absolutely spotless clean and very comfortable. We had more room than expected and were definitely pleased to stay there. It is easy to find and then only a few miles away from Tubac. Four us stayed and we all agreed what a nice experience it was to be in this home.
About the Host, Laura
I'm a teaching artist and a caregiver, an avid backyard bird watcher and nature lover. My husband Pat and I love to garden, go for bike rides, take walks and hikes and go fishing whenever we can. Renting our home and being hosts is a new adventure for us, we're looking forward to meeting new people and introducing them to this beautiful Sonoran Desert we call home.
