The place is exactly as described so no surprises here. It was very nice and the gf loooooooved it. Was a little shocked at how small the shower was but gotta make efficient use of the space, right? Overall, the location and privacy the property offered was great. This was our first trip to NOLA and having the opportunity to experience Marigny in addition to the rest of New Orleans was amazing; being able to stay in a neighborhood as opposed to a hotel made us feel like a local and was the experience we were looking for. The neighborhood is filled with old victorian style homes with very interesting french architecture. It was fun to walk around and see all the different homes. There is this cafe/bakery right around the corner (1 block) which had delicious (if you want their Boudin cake, get there before 8:30 AM) breakfast. Best Cappucino and shrimp & grits. The location of the pool house is a short 10 min walk to the French Quarter. After I parked on Friday, I didn't have to drive again until the day we left. We were easily able to walk to Frenchman St., Bourbon St., Harrah's and all points in between. Brooke was great and made the whole process smooth as butter. I emailed her a week prior to our arrival to ask for food recommendations and she quickly responded with suggestions based on our interests. Would def stay here again.
Great place for two! Unit was just as described. Marigny is a great neighborhood to explore New Orleans and the location of this unit makes it easy to walk throughout the Marigny,
The pool house was a perfect place to stay for our first ever trip to New Orleans. The apartment is exactly as described, and quite lovely. It's in a secluded courtyard that's shared with Brooke and Mark as well as another small property. The location in the Marigny is indeed close/convenient to the French Quarter and in itself a hip and interesting area, with some excellent restaurants and some of the best places to hear music downtown (Frenchmen St.) just a few blocks away.
Brooke and Mark were consummately gracious hosts, and were kind, friendly, and accommodating, with lots of useful suggestions for places to go and how best to navigate the city. We rented bikes from the nearby recommended shop and used them for our entire stay, as we were attending a conference in the business district, although the downtown core/French Quarter would have been perfectly walkable without.
Overall, very highly recommended. We loved NOLA and when we get a chance to come back will certainly try to stay at Brooke and Mark's again.
Brooke and Mark were great hosts. They made it very easy to rent this beautiful place for our 3 night stay and made it so easy when we arrived. Brooke provided us with info on our stay, where we could eat and places to visit. I felt very comfortable there! The house we stayed in was PERFECT! I wouldn't have changed anything! I would definitely rent from them again!! Thanks so much, Brooke and Mark!
This was the first time we visited New Orleans, and it was everything my girlfriend and I hoped for. We were there for 3 nights and we honestly couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. As mentioned in the other reviews, the pool house really is only a 2-5 min walk from the French Quarter, depending on your walking speed, and once you're in the Quarter you're pretty near all the other major NOLA sites. The pool house itself was clean, comfortable, and a welcome retreat after the day's fun. The perfect size for a pair. We met Brooke, and her dog, a few nights in, and she was a gracious host. She even helped book us a car for the ride back to the airport when we had to leave. I'd recommend asking her about Jerry, one of the nicest and most professional car service operators you'll ever meet.
A tip. There isn't a tv in the pool house, so if you're a person who needs something like that to decompress, make sure you bring your IPad/Tablet/IPhone/Android with the appropriate apps in order to do so. However, I will say not having a tv was a bit of a joy and made us stay out even longer and experience the city in ways we may not have.
Stay here. It's worth it.
The pool house was exactly as described and very much met our expectations! It is in a great area - away from the tourist section, in a quiet neighborhood, but just blocks away from the best music scene in the city. We rented bikes for our entire stay and were able to get around everywhere that way, but it was also very easy to get a cab when needed. The pool house was clean and had everything we needed and our hosts were friendly and helpful with suggestions of where to go and how to navigate the city. Highly recommend this spot!
Beautiful spot, tucked away in the Marigny, quiet and clean and a perfect base for New Orleans vacation. We can't wait to return.

We're an easy-going bunch and love to meet new people and hangout with our friends. You can usually find us riding bikes to find some delicious food, lively music or just relaxing at the dog park or by the pool. We love to sail and we try to get on the water anywhere and anytime we can.
