The space

I let my apartment for short to medium holiday stays (special prices for long stays with cleaning service possible). It is a 900sq ft, 2 bedrooms very bright and charming apartment with a terrace overlooking a green courtyard-garden below.
The kitchen and the living-room look onto the terrace and green gardens of the neighborhood, the apartment has nice high ceilings and really a lot of light. Charming old floor cement decorated tiles.
Bathroom with a bath tub / shower, sink, WC, washing machine and there is a second WC outside on the terrace in an "outhouse".
It sleeps 4 people (2 beds 160cm and 120cm) plus there is a sofa/daybed (for 1) in the living room. The kitchen is new (2011), there is Internet connection and I will leave space in my closets for the guests who will be very welcome to use my things, books, cd, iPod station, etc.. as if they stayed at a friend's home, with all the books and music at their disposal.
The location is 1 minute walk from Banyuls front beach and right in the heart of the village with all commodities around (shops, bars, restaurants).
More details : air conditioning / wifi / heating / table and chairs on the terrace, a professional massage table at your disposal.
Linen, towels and all the usual kitchenware + fridge, freezer, oven etc...
Train station is 6 minutes away (walking). Bus to anywhere in the region for 1€ per trip ("1€ buses in Roussillon).
Banyuls is a lovely small wine producing town, the farmers market is twice a week, on thursdays and sundays. Many activities like swimming, diving (national marine reservation), boat/kayak renting, trekking, wine tasting. Spanish border at 10km, Barcelona is 2h away, we have a train station in Banyuls sur mer, airport in Perpignan and in Girona (both 1h away).
Plus... my uncle Jules has his small winery downstairs and will be happy to show you around and let you taste his delicious wines from Domaine de Villa Rose, our 4th generation wine estate.
Charming place at the very south of France, with a catalan cultural strong identity and splendid food and wine !

Awesome host, perfect spot! Chris makes you feel completely at home. Easy communication in advance of our trip, friendly welcome by Isabelle, amazing location just a block from the beach. Apartment is spacious and private. Lovely terrace, great collection of books and music. I never met Chris but felt so happy in her place. Highly recommend!

The apartment more than came up to our expectations. It felt like a real home not like a holiday letting. The terrace overlooking the garden was lovely for breakfast and the apartment inside was comfortable, light and airy. The location of the apartment was great - quiet, close to the sea and close to good restaurants. The wine left in the fridge for us by Chris was so nice that we made a trip to Chris's vineyard on the outskirts of Collioure to buy some more . We'll definitely be back for another stay.

Chris was very welcoming. She waited at the apartment for us and was in contact via text and phoning. We were delayed as our plane landed late and she had no problem with this. There was a welcoming bottle of wine on arrival also! The apartment is wonderful, just as described. Doors open onto a balcony which makes it very charming, airy and pleasant to be in. The balcony has a lovely view of gardens and trees and is very sunny. This apartment is home from home. Chris has lots of excellent books, CDs and DVDs all available to the guests. The kitchen is wonderful, with recipe books and great utensils and cooking facilities etc. The vicinity is charming, with local shops very close, equally the market, and a few minutes from the beach. Also very easy parking. A truly special apartment and very highly recommended.

We did not get the chance to meet Christine, who was travelling at the time of our stay, but we could arrange the practical aspects with a friend of hers, and everything went very smoothly. We also communicated with Christine by messaging. Christine, a winemaker as we found out, very kindly left us a bottle of wine as a welcome gift. Our check-out was on the day of the dreadful attacks at Brussels airport. Christine spontaneously offered to host us one more night if needed, which we found extremely kind of her.

Christine could not be present when we arrived, but had arranged for us meeting her uncle Louis, who is a wine-grower. The flat is gros: fin-de-ciécle charme (tiles), books in English and française (intellectual air, missed the Gîtanes, though ;-)) space on end (terrace with a view of mediterranean trees, spacious kitchen, stylish living-room with comfy sofa, chairs and settees), bedroom perfectly well equipped as was the bathroom: this is a gorgeous place we enjoyed very much. The icing on the top, though, is Catherine's uncle: he produces wonderful red and white Banyuls as well as a red Collioure in the basement, which you can degustez in the evening. There is an atmosphere of wine-making in the stair-case leading to the flat which beats everything we have encountered so far. We did not lack anything in the perfectly well equipped flat which is located in the quiet of the old town, only a couple of paces from amenities and beach, which come like an extended living-room. Have a try at Manuel's el Xadic del mar around the corner: 16 places, incredible fresh and local plates of delights of the earth and the sea. Thank you, Andrea and Jörg
