Beautiful and modern apartment located in the heart of Madrid. Recently renovated with the finest materials it´s perfect for a holiday or for a longer stay in the city.
Chic, bright and very comfortable. The lighting is integrated into the ceiling and polished concrete floors are perfect for walking barefoot; there is underfloor heating. Each piece of furniture and each drawing was carefully chosen.
The first room of the house is the kitchen. Brand new and with integrated appliances is equipped for both short and long stays. It receives both north and south light through the window and the interior balcony.
The kitchen is open to the spacious living room. Next to another balcony, facing west, there is a glass table for eating or working. In the living room a leather sofa and armchair are perfect for relaxing or watching TV. There is also a table with two poufs, for if there are guests.
The bathroom, in white marble, has a long bathtub with two modern rain-showers. There are also two sinks, opposite each other.
The bedroom is spacious, bright and very quiet. There is also a courtyard balcony facing best: you can see the sky from the bed. It includes a walk-in dressingroom, to have everything in order.
The location of the apartment is superb, nestled between the cool Chueca and Malasaña neighborhoods. In Valverde street you can enjoy clothes boutiques, hairdressers and beauty salons, gym, library, and art galleries. Less than five minutes walk are some of the best bars, terraces and restaurants of Madrid: Al-Jaima La cocina del desierto (Arabic food, very good), Bazaar (cheap and nice), Diurno (a videoclub thats also a great café), Home Burger Bar (very good burgers and fries), La Mucca (open all day and fun), Public (Cheap and cheerful), Tetería Mama Framboise (Amazing Cakes) Café Gijón (Classic literary coffee XIX), Prima Piu (a bit expensive but the best Italian in Madrid), Lateral (tapas), La Isola Bella (pizzas and pastas to take home), Clarita, Casa Fidel (Spanish mother food ), Fat Boy (the best burritos in Madrid), La Ardosa (the classic tapas bar in Madrid just around the corner), El Pez Gordo, El Mercado de San Antón, and Plaza de Chueca and San Idefonso.

My staying at Fernando's apartment was super. Very cozy apartment and very nice host. Everything is exactly was it is mentioned in the website. Would repeat it!
Hola, 4 días estupendos! Limpio, bonito, funcional, bien situado y nada de ruido. No llegué a controlar muy bien la temperatura del agua en las duchas (sobre todo la del fondo), pero con algo de paciencia se soluciona.
4 lovely days! Clean, nice, well located (nice bars around) but also quiet. I had some problems with the water temperature in the showers, but that is all and it can be solved with a little bit of patience.
Fernando was a wonderful host! His place was spotless, very comfortable and in an incredible location with tons of bars, restaurants and shops nearby. We almost never left the neighborhood the whole time we were there! He was available via cell phone any time of the day, which was extremely helpful!
The best/worst part was when we checked out - at 7am on a Saturday we locked the keys inside the apartment (5th floor) thinking we were doing the right thing, only to find that the building's door on the ground floor was locked from the inside. We were trapped inside and had to make our flight home! After unsuccessfully trying to coax any neighbor to come unlock it for us, we called Fernando to ask his advice on what to do. Without hesitation he jumped in a cab and unlocked the door for us 15 minutes later.
I can't imagine a crappier was to wake up on a Saturday morning. Fernando was amazing and a lifesaver!
I would recommend this apartment a hundred times over.
I stayed in Fernando's apartment for one month, and I absolutely loved! The comunication with the host was very quickly and he sent a nice email with a list of the best places to eat and visit. Great neighborhood, restaurants, caffes, bars, convenience, stores... The street behind the apt have stores of greats brands. Its very centrally located, near Gran Via. The apt was very well maintened and clean.
A few inconveniences are: there are only one set of keys, the wifi is located on the other apt so the signal sometimes is bad.
I definitely would stay there again!
The good: We absolutely loved our stay in Fernando's apartment in Madrid. The location is as central as you can get. Great neighborhood with plenty of restaurants, cafés, bars, convenience stores, etc. We didn't meet Fernando but someone was there to greet us and hand us the keys upon our arrival, there was absolutely no running around involved. Communication was always clear and courteous and he would reply very quickly. It is on the fourth floor and there is no elevator but we were aware of that when we booked so not a problem, nothing wrong with a little exercise! The place is very quiet given it is at the back of the building (and not at the front with windows that open on the street) and filled with natural light thanks to the huge windows, two light shafts, and the fact that it is on the fourth floor. The apartment has everything you need such as towels, linens and dishes. At one point we were having problems with the wi-fi and he was very quick to solve the problem. Turns out the router is next door and the people who rented the apartment had unplugged it not knowing what it was for! Problem solved in no time. Now, the less good; About the apartment next door... I guess the whole floor used to be one apartment and it got split into two. The job is very well done. But if someone rings the bell downstairs it rings in both apartments. So if someone rings the bell for the neighbours early and you went to bed late (or in the early hours of the morning!) it might wake you up. Also the doors to both apartments are made of glass and there is a 1 inch gap at the top and bottom of both doors so if the neighbours are having a party, you will also be having a party (or be very angry) as both entrance doors are not exactly sound proof. Thankfully our neighbours were quiet and so were we considering we didn't get any complaints and neither of us suffered from it. Last but not least, having two sets of keys would have been nice. If you and whoever you are traveling with decide to head out on seperate paths the situation isn't ideal. You have to know at what time whoever has the keys will be back, decide who keeps the set of keys, etc. I guess if you both have a phone it makes it pretty easy but it wasn't our case. So not a huge problem but not ideal. As for the bad; None! I would most definitely deal with Fernando again if I come back to Madrid in the future, which wouldn't surprise me. We loved our stay! Thanks Fernando!
Our stay at Fernando's apartment was very pleasant and enjoyful! The communication with the host was perfect, he always answered our questions very quickly and attentively and send a nice overview with advice on the neighbourhood, places to go, etc. The flat is located very centrally, only 5 min walk to Gran Via, and in the centre of a very cool neighborhood Chueca (full of bars, cafes, shops, and amazing San Anton makret - definetely the hidden gem of it) - so we could walk to any place in the centre of Madrid without using public transport (also the 3 great museums and Plaza Mayor & Sol are just a short walk away). The flat itself was very cozy and clean, has all the kitchen&bath equipment one could need, plus a very comfortable bed and a huge blanket which we really appreciated!:)
All in all, it was a very nice stay, and I would like to thank Fernando and would definetely come to stay at this flat again once in Madrid!
Nice little apartment. A liittle tired though in need of minor repairs and re-painting.
We arrived very late in the evening, but that was no problem for Fernando. He was waiting for us, he even carried my bag to the top.
Everything was nice and clean.
Before our trip to Madrid Fernando already gave me some tips, where to eat, what to visit, where to drink, ... Those tips were very useful! It's a nice way to learn the local places.
Malasaña is for sure one of the best areas in Madrid.
We loved it!
Excellent apartment, clean and centrally located. The only negative was the 4 story walk-up.
Great weekend in Madrid.
Thanks to Fernando who was waiting for us upon arrival to the apartment!
The apartment was situated in a great location and was very well maintained. We would definitely stay there again.
Fernando sent us a long email with all the best places to eat a visit. Top marks all round
