Beautiful and modern apartment located in the heart of Madrid. Recently renovated with the finest materials it´s perfect for a holiday or for a longer stay in the city.
Chic, bright and very comfortable. The lighting is integrated into the ceiling and polished concrete floors are perfect for walking barefoot; there is underfloor heating. Each piece of furniture and each drawing was carefully chosen.
The first room of the house is the kitchen. Brand new and with integrated appliances is equipped for both short and long stays. It receives both north and south light through the window and the interior balcony.
The kitchen is open to the spacious living room. Next to another balcony, facing west, there is a glass table for eating or working. In the living room a leather sofa and armchair are perfect for relaxing or watching TV. There is also a table with two poufs, for if there are guests.
The bathroom, in white marble, has a long bathtub with two modern rain-showers. There are also two sinks, opposite each other.
The bedroom is spacious, bright and very quiet. There is also a courtyard balcony facing best: you can see the sky from the bed. It includes a walk-in dressingroom, to have everything in order.
The location of the apartment is superb, nestled between the cool Chueca and Malasaña neighborhoods. In Valverde street you can enjoy clothes boutiques, hairdressers and beauty salons, gym, library, and art galleries. Less than five minutes walk are some of the best bars, terraces and restaurants of Madrid: Al-Jaima La cocina del desierto (Arabic food, very good), Bazaar (cheap and nice), Diurno (a videoclub thats also a great café), Home Burger Bar (very good burgers and fries), La Mucca (open all day and fun), Public (Cheap and cheerful), Tetería Mama Framboise (Amazing Cakes) Café Gijón (Classic literary coffee XIX), Prima Piu (a bit expensive but the best Italian in Madrid), Lateral (tapas), La Isola Bella (pizzas and pastas to take home), Clarita, Casa Fidel (Spanish mother food ), Fat Boy (the best burritos in Madrid), La Ardosa (the classic tapas bar in Madrid just around the corner), El Pez Gordo, El Mercado de San Antón, and Plaza de Chueca and San Idefonso.

I've been living 30 years in Madrid andI love my city, so do not hesitate to ask me for recommendations on Madrid. I love to travel myself and I know that usually best places are not on the guides…
I hope you have a great stay while you are at my place. And I hope you feel at home there. So just treat the house like you would treat yours. Be nice to the neighbors like you´d be to yours. And, please enjoy the flat and the city.
Perfect location. Steps away from the "hip and trendy" Malasana & Chueca areas but only a short walk to the "touristy" Grand Via and Plaza Mayor. The apartment was clean and cozy. Fernando was a great host and provided many suggestions for dining in the area. The walk up to the fourth floor is a bit challenging at night because of the lack of hall lights but we encountered this throughout Europe.
Fernando is a GREAT HOST! : I've rent the appartment for my father's birthday. I needed help to organise a very big family lunch and, he has given to me little advices every time I've called him.
He's really, VERY NICE.
Also, the appartment is great. It was very clean. There's lot of light inside and there's everything you need.
Rosa, the woman who did the checkin was on time and very nice too.
The appartment is MORE than centric: 3min by walking fro mthe sbway station, near all the little sunny square, it's really very nice.
THANK YOU FERNANDO !!
It's a very nice apartement in a really nice neighbourhood of Madrid. It's clean and nicely decorated. Fernando was very helpfull with an early check-in and a late check-out. We almost did everything on foot because it was in the centre of Madrid. And if you're looking for a nice place between the locals, this is the place to be. We had a lovely time!
Very nice flat in a great location - we stayed for 4 nights and walked to everything we wanted to do. Fernando was prompt with his communications and he sent us some good restaurant recommendations in the local area, although we never met him.
We had a wonderful time in Madrid. This property is cute, clean and convenient to shopping, restaurants, public transportation and sites. Fernando had someone meet us but she did not speak English, so our orientation was limited. He was available by phone and text and was very accommodating when we had a personal emergency. Guests should be aware that the climb to the 4th (really 5th) floor is very strenuous with or without luggage. Once in the nicely decorated apartment we were disappointed to realize that there was no view and that the only windows opened to air shafts where you can only see clotheslines and sunlight above you. There is no access to terrace or balcony. Though there is no street noise, we could hear everything that went on in the apartment next door, including 10 pm vacuuming and midnight rock music. The bathroom is modern, but the sinks and tub are very high for anyone under 5 1/2 ft. and the mirror is very small. The walk in closet is big! The restaurant right next door is very nice and friendly and their frittata patatas is delicious! The grocery is just down the street and the Pharmacy just around the corner....as well as all the shopping you could ever want. We walked everywhere to enjoy the many beautiful sites and museums of Madrid. We also took a day trip to El Escorial and the Valley of the Dead (Gray Lines Tours) that was very interesting. Our advice if flying into and out of Madrid, (if you are over 40) is to take a taxi. The set price is 30 euros and it is worth it!
Merci beaucoup pour ce très joli appartement.
Le quartier est super sympa et le bar en bas de la maison juste au top. Malgré que le quartier soit très vivant, l'appartement reste très calme.
A recommander sans hésiter....

I´m Fernando, I´ve lived in Madrid most of my life, and I love my city.
I first airbnb during a long trip through the United States. As a guest I found it a great way to visit places. Much better than hotels. So when I came back I decided to rent my place. Its a house i designed for me and my wife . We bought it because it had tons of light, clear views and mainly the best location. Its in a quiet pedestrian street with many orange trees, but you are in the middle of everything and you can walk to all the places that we loved in Madrid. I hope you enjoy it as we did when we lived there.
