Description

The space

Great location in the centrally located Montford neighborhood. Stroll the tree lined sidewalks only a few blocks to downtown or take a few steps to Asheville's new greenway connecting UNCA and botanical gardens.
The house has a king size bed as well as a full size futon for friends or non-couples. Eat on the deck under the huge black walnuts and silver maples or walk only a few blocks to the popular neighborhood restaurant and bar (nine mile). Asheville's restaurants and attractions are a short walk or drive up the road. Biltmore Estate is about a 10-15 minute drive, the blue ridge parkway is about a 15 minute drive and UNCA is almost next door. It's hard to beat this location!
The kitchen has new high end stainless steel appliances for folks who like to cook and the family room has a very comfortable large couch to hang out on. We keep the house clean. Sorry no pets. Thanks for looking!

Close to everything we needed! Private setting. Nice neighborhood! Asheville is an amazing city. The host was very quick to respond after we booked! Highly recommend.

The house was very clean. It wasn't exactly what we expected but overall satisfied.

We enjoyed our stay at this cute cottage for five nights. It was a little further of a walk to downtown than we realized, so we ended up driving and parking all but one time. But the house itself was adorable. The king bed was extremely comfy, and we enjoyed sitting on the wooden deck out back each morning and evening, where there were beautiful plants, flowers, and lots of singing birds. The neighborhood is quiet and residential, with lots of cool historic homes, though it was a very short drive to downtown and the Biltmore. The house is a little old and funky, but the kitchen has been updated with nice modern appliances, which is appreciated! Amy was also very quick to respond to any questions. Great spot for a couple on a budget!

We loved Amy's place- so bright and clean when we arrived! It feels secluded, with lots of foliage between the house and the street, private and a little rustic. Plus it was a safe, quiet neighborhood, but less than a mile from the downtown shops, restaurants, and breweries. Amy was communicative, and there were great resources in the house. I would also recommend using the Green Way to walk to the botanical gardens at UNC Asheville (maybe 2.5 miles round trip if you walk around the gardens some too!). We will be back.

We enjoyed staying at Amy's place, however the house was older than we expected, especially for the price. It felt more like a converted inexpensive home just for rental use, with minimal required updates. The home is a good size, but it could use new paint, and an updated bathroom. The house never felt dirty, but it didn't feel 100% clean.

Response from Amy:
Hi Jennifer, Sorry if our house was not what you had expected. The home had been built around the 1920's and over the past 20 years of owning the home we have attempted to keep as much of the original charm as we could. It was our family home for many years and the changes we made felt in line with keeping the original integrity. We had the heart pine antique floors refinished and decided to keep the lovely, antique flow glass windows while updating the kitchen and furnishings. I can assure you that this was not an "inexpensive home just for rental use" it has and continues to be MUCH, MUCH more for our family and I am sorry that what we love wasn't appreciated by y'all.

This is a cute little cottage located next to a pretty greenway and only about a 10 min walk to the edge of Downtown Asheville. It was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Amy was very easy and fast with communication. Highly recommend!

This house was the perfect weekend getaway. It is secluded enough that it feels like an escape but close enough that we could drive back to the house after brunch to drop off leftovers and get back to the city center for shopping in no time. Take some time to enjoy a cup of coffee on the porch and hear the birds chirp. The house is quirky and has a lot of Asheville charm. Would love to come stay again.
