Very nice stay in Rome! The apartment is cosy and decorated with taste. We stayed at 5, which was very good. The park next to the apartment is really nice
Maria was extremely responsive and helpful before and during our stay. Among other things, she arranged a car service to pick us up at the train station and to return us to the station at the end of our stay. The service was extremely convenient and reasonably priced. Gloria, the owner of the apartment was also lovely. The apartment was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed our stay in Rome.
My wife and I spent the first few days of our honeymoon in Rome, and this was a comfortable home base for us. We got in later than expected and got a bit lost trying to find it (Maria had originally e-mailed us the wrong address) but Gloria, who owns the apartment, was waiting for us at the address where we THOUGHT it was. Gloria was as helpful as can be and responded quickly via e-mail.
The apartment is so charming, and fully stocked with books and CDs and coffee and spaghetti - all of which Gloria generously let us use. This isn't an antiseptic apartment made for lots of turnover - it's an actual living space, with art on the walls and tons of personality. The WiFi internet worked flawlessly, which is something we can't say for every Air BnB apartment we stayed in.
Really there are only two things to consider if you're planning to book this apartment:
1) The street it's on is actually quite noisy in the morning. It woke me up earlier than I would like to.
2) The apartment is further west of Trastevere and Rome's city center than it initially looks like on the map (Maria was up front about this), and the neighborhood (Monteverde) is at the top of a big hill. There are a few bus stops nearby, and those can work if you've got the time and patience. But you'll probably be taking cabs back and forth during the evening unless you're okay with a long walk. We walked back to the apartment from Trastevere once and it was about a 45 minute, partially uphill climb. Doable, and there are some lovely stops on the way, but not ideal.
All in all, a lovely apartment, and very well kept.
This apt was quaint and well equipped with a very friendly and generous owner who greeted us at the door. The place felt very European in every way!!! Window views of the park across the street were lovely and even better to take an hour's walk throughout this expansive peaceful hidden treasure.
This apt is located a a road that is extrememely busy and noisy during high traffic hours, which we were not aware of until we arrived.
We understood that the bus stop was directly in front of the door, which it is actually a few blocks distance with infrequent stops on some days. Train station was 20 minute walk, so carrying luggage on cobblestone streets to the apt can be quite a long distance.
Although we enjoyed everything, in the future we prefer to be much closer to the train station.
Maria is such a lovely person who prepared a very comfortable apartment for us to stay in.
A very good location to visit the vatican. Also had a very good meal at the many restaurants located in its vicinity.
